Travel Systems?

Can I be nosey and ask what travel systems you're all getting please?

Ideally I don't want to spend more than about £600, preferably all black/chrome, and something that will fold down small enough to go in the boot of my Citroen C3. Also something nice to push as I'm looking forward to walking out with the baby while on ML.

Went to our local baby stores yesterday, liked the Mamas and Papas Ocarro I think it was called, but that came in at more expensive than I expected for everything 😕

Any help greatly appreciated!

If you have a while to go you might get an offer on the Occaro - that’s the one we got
Got it in the Black Friday event and it was about £580 for full system with isofix

Hi
have you got a pram centre near you? I have just got the venicci, they are good prams but not as expensive as some of the more known brands

AutumnalTed · 22/01/2018 16:57

I have the Joie Chrome pushchair travel system. Think it’s £500 for all the bits, but is £250 for pushchair, carry cot and car seat at the moment. I LOVE it! The car seat is really good and the whole system is “pretty”. Everything clicks in and out really easily, I can do it all one handed.

dontquotemeondailymail · 22/01/2018 16:58

We had the venicci, loved it!

Blueroses99 · 22/01/2018 17:08

The Ocarro is fantastic, can’t recommend it highly enough. Baby is v comfy, it is sturdy, steers really well and has a big basket. I paid around £900 for the 6 piece bundle I think as it was pretty new when I got it and I would say it’s been worth the money. Being able to clip on the car seat has come in really useful. Now DD is in the buggy seat, but we still use the bassinet as a travel cot, and I can fold it down one handed. It fits comfortably in a Ford Focus, not sure how that compares to a C3. I think it looks stylish, but I have had a lot of compliments on it too. If price is a big factor in your decision, the earlier ranges (Armadillo/Flip XT??) have similar features (but not as robust in my opinion, but that might not matter).

Some great advice here, thank you all!

@Whymustyoubringinthebirds I have until the end of April, dare I chance waiting? Do the offers come round often?

@AutumnalTed I will have a little google when I get home tonight and look into that one, thanks for the recommendation Smile

@user1498424431 @dontquotemeondailymail great suggestion there too thanks! Will have a look at that one also Smile

I also have a Venicci! Cheaper than Egg, Silver Cross and iCandy systems. We paid £599 for chassis, pram, buggy, car seat with adapters for chassis and changing bag from the Glasgow pram centre.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 22/01/2018 18:06

@cottage well the did have a different pram on offer over Xmas so it could be possible that once that ends there might put it back on

It did only take 2 days to come into store if you did decide to hold off :)

BlueRaincoat89 · 22/01/2018 19:27

We've just bought the Recaro Citylife - got the buggy, carrycot, car seat, ISOFIX base, rain cover and parasol for around £530. It's all black.

I chose it because Recaro is well known for excellent car seats. The pram had very good reviews too and importantly for us, it folds small enough to fit in my small boot. The carrycot is squashable too.

SianLG · 22/01/2018 21:32

@BlueRaincoat89 that's a great deal on a Recaro. We have been looking at the car seat which on its own was £500ish. Where did you find that deal if you don't mind me asking?

BlueRaincoat89 · 22/01/2018 21:37

@SianLG we found it on this website:

groovystyle.co.uk/recaro-citylife-black-complete-travel-system.html

It was a brand I'd not really heard much about but doing a bit of research the travel system sounds great, especially for the price and good for our needs (light and small!)

BlueRaincoat89 · 22/01/2018 21:39

@SianLG the seat isn't usually £500 so it might be another one that you were looking at.

Wicket2016 · 23/01/2018 08:34

Hi do you have a Pram world near you? We've bought the vennicci too, it was very good quality without the hefty price tag. Pram world will also match any online price. We got an amazing deal on a model that should have been over £700, we got the whole system for £546 because they price matched a sale we found online. Lots of my friends have found that independent retailers like that are more open to negotiating on a deal 🙂

user1474128210 · 28/01/2018 20:01

Same as Wicket- Pram world Vennicci - mines arriving Tues (strangely exciting)

HolyShmoly · 28/01/2018 21:55

For those that have a venicci, do you use the car seat or a different one? I'm planning on buying a venicci second hand so will need a new car seat anyway. Is it just the venicci and maxi cosi that fit into them?

Mummyh2016 · 28/01/2018 22:36

We have the ocarro too which we love. Have you checked it will fit in your boot though?

Luxi · 29/01/2018 01:04

Ive got a cosatto giggle 2, the patterns are a bit bold lol but I do love it! Very light, good value and an easy pusher!

maybaby17 · 29/01/2018 01:06

Love my Ocarro but it is quite bulky and heavy enough. Lovely pram tho

user1474128210 · 29/01/2018 08:39

**Holy the car seat was included in our package but the isofix was an extra £120 for the vennici car seat and I believe that the maxicosi as you have suggested is the only alternative choice. Could be wrong though ???
