Migraine/pre eclampsia

I’ve been suffering with a migraine for two days and it suddenly occurred to me that the symptoms are quite similar to pre eclampsia.

So I called my local MFAU and the on call midwife basically laughed at me when I told her that I was only 19 weeks, and told me to go to bed!

Now I feel a bit stupid. I was only being cautious!

Don’t feel stupid, the information is to call if you show symptoms and you did that. There’s a disconnect between a pregnant woman trying to judge the severity of all the aches/pains that her own body goes through and a midwife who deals with the ailments of many pregnant women day in and day out thus often plays it down - so ignore her and trust your own instincts. You can find hundreds of stories of dismissive medical professionals ignoring patients concerns incorrectly. You will not regret checking but would regret ignoring! I hope your migraine gets better, I had awful ones with my daughter and lost eyesight as well as the pain but I don’t have them this pregnancy nor in between so rest as much as you can
