Sharp pains

Hi

First pregnancy currently 17 weeks and im wondering if what im feeling is normal

Iv had pains like period pain and some backache but i also get a sudden sharp pain in my side/lower belly lasts for a second if that and happens every so often

Have a midwife appointment next week but wondering if i should give them a call or if its normal

Very likely to be normal ligament pain. At 17 weeks everything is shifting around so abdominal twinges are standard. But I'd call the midwife in the morning for reassurance, and 111 tonight if it got worse or more frequent.
