Oh, my aching boobs!!!

I dont remember my boobs aching this much with DS1 (now 16 years old).

Is it coz i was younger way back then (i'm 39 now) and my body could cope more?

When will the aching stop?!! It hurts to walk fast, take my bra off or sleep without my "safe" bra on at night. By "safe" i mean the only bra that isn't digging into my skin and leaving marks but is like a hammock.

Do they get even bigger throughout pregnancy? Please tell me no!!

I cant bear the thought of anyone touching them, let along my poor poor DP who's been so patient with the lack of "it" over the last few weeks.

How far into your pregnancy are you? Until about 5 1/2 months my boobs were a nightmare -even causing me to burst into tears and run out of a M&S underwear changing room!They were huge and painful.... I thought they would never stop growing!But since I hit 6months they have gone back to their normal selfs and I'm comfortable again.Giving me time to concentrate on my tight swollen stomach and aching back instead!

I'm 9+4 at the mo and they are absolutely HUUUUUUGE!!!

Mine were soooo sore the first 12 weeks, I couldn't believe it - from a C cup to a double D in 3 months - they used to wake me up in the night if I turned over. So I feel your pain (literally!).

But am now 17 + 6 and they've been fine for the last few weeks - still getting used to the size thing and have carried on wearing a bra in bed to be on safe side but way better. And they haven't got any bigger since then.

Mine haven't got much bigger this time but omg they are sore, I'm 12 weeks & ms is abating, not too tired & not peeeing much more than usual tbh but yes they are absolutely killing me. It's a relief to take my bra off for about 2 seconds then they are so saggy & heavy I have to hold them back up for a wee while, wearing a maternity vest top to bed seems to help, it's supportive but not restrictive. First time round I was always shutting them in doors & the showere cubicle, mind you they went from a 36DD to a 40DD within about 3 months. I'm 36E to start with this time round & my bras still fit ok but they are a wee bit fuller. Hope it gets better soon.

Yes 5 1/2 months and alot of money wasted in Bravissimo as I grew out of bras fortnightly...gave up in the end and bought two carriwell maternity bras for a tenner each which show under everything I wear and come down to my waist but god are they comfortable....
None of my other pregnant friends had this problem though!30d to a 36G if you are interested!

I was about a 40D before i started and i'm still squeezing them into my normal bras so i dread to think of what size they are now!! Maternity vests sound interesting, where do you get them and do they come in plus sizes? They've got to be more comfortable than wearing an underwired bra all night.

Jbck - that is exactly what i'm like at night. Take off me bra for the brief relief, then whip on my biggest bra for more comfort lol. Oh how i miss the days of being slim and having small boobs lol.

Mine ached a lot with both dd's. And in the last couple months my nipples itched like mad and drove me out of my mind

RGP I bought mine from M&S, just looked on the website tho' & don't see them now, I kept mine tho' from when DD was born 5 years ago. They were like vests but with hidden support (this bit was softer & larger than in normal vests) & obviously a bit to accommodate your bump. I'm sure other places must do them.

I'm nearly 15 weeks and the nork fairy still hasn't been. I'm still a 34B, but they feel like a pair of rocks/

RGPargy... you have my sympathies. I've been in agony with mine since about 4 weeks (now 19+3).

They are huge now, 36 EE/F (up from 34D/DD) making me look even fatter than ever. I used to be pretty pear shaped, but my boobs are so huge they've evened up my gigantic hips! My dh has started to make thudding noises when I take my bra off at night, but tbh that's exactly what it feels like... thunk, thunk!

My nips are particularly sore, and when I get even remotely cold my left one feels like someone is sticking needles in it. It's absolute agony, it's like it becomes too erect. The only thing that can help it is a hot water bottle.

I went skiing when I was 15weeks and I took a couple of those reusable hot gel packs (those ones with the funny discs in them you snap and they have a chemical reaction and go hot) in case of emergencies. A couple of times I had to use them, the pain was so bad I didn't even care about the stares as I sat in a mountain bar holding a hot pack to my chest (under my clothing of course!) I've even had to resort to standing under hand dryers a few times while out and about. I'm sooooo glad summer is here!!

God I hope they shrink back, even saggy ones look ok in a decent bra, and if I spend the rest of my life with a shelf like this I don't think I'll ever be able to wear a teeshirt again!

I meant to post about the hairdryer & Mrs Mars post put me in mind of it, after I'd had DD I used the hairdryer on mine in hospital when they were sore & I've thought about it just now but not done it yet, usually cos it's about 10 at night & I don't want to wake DD up but I might get to that stage if they don't get better soon [we really need an ouch emoticon on MN]. Just on the lowest heat & blow setting & I found it v soothing.

Well i went to Matalan today, not expecting to find very much in my size. However, i was not disappointed and was able to find the D and above section of the bras and it was great!! I bought two sports bras in black and white and also an ordinary bra in white, although this is a little snug round my back so i should have bought a 42D, rather than a 40D. Still, it'll give a little the more i wear it. Thankfully the cups are nice and stretchy so they'll do me fine too.

i also bought some nice new thongs and as they're not made by Evans, e.g. but are instead made by "ordinary" shops, i found the fit was much much better!

GAP maternity is doing maternity vests - just got one at the Oxford St store and have been wearing it to bed.

Thanx Bag. I think i deffo need one of those! night times are a killer and i'm always waking up!

Do those vests offer any kind of support Bag? I'm finding that when I turn over at night I'm kind of leaving a boob behind as they're so big!!! I end up with one trapped almost behind my back and it hurrrrrts!

I here ya, Mrs Mar!!!! Also, snuggling up to my DP in bed is very rare these days too as my boobs hurt too much to be squished!!

My boobs were incredibly sore from about 8 - 20 wks. They just kept getting bigger and bigger and I went through 4 different sizes of bra. I couldn't sleep without a bra on either. It all seemed to settle down after about 20 wks though. Now I just seem to have a case of the ever-expanding nipples - Quite frightening for a first timer!!

Bravado (online) do a maternity/ nursing vest too. Haven't tried it and not sure of sizes but i have just bought their plus size nursing bra (the one which looks like a sports bra) and it is excellent....might be useful to you once the baby comes.The carriwell soft cup maternity bras I was talking about are great for sleeping in and and hold you in place...can be found on NCT website or google for them.

You can get them online with less postage though -need to search a bit as I can't remember the site I got mine off. Blooming marvellous sell them too but charge a fiver for postage!They really are not flattering and come up v. high but feel like you aren't wearing anything and hold you in place.Make sure its the seamless maternity bra though and not their sleep bras -I haven't tried those ones.
