I'm 7 weeks today and just started bleeding, it was quite a lot, like a normal period. Obviously I know what this means & am extremely upset. Have called out of hours docs waiting for a call back. Have mild abdominal pains but have all the way through pregnancy. Anyone else had this experience. Please help!

Frustratingly, there is nothing you can do at the moment. Hopefully the doctor will call back soon and give you information about checking your hormone levels etc. Sorry you’re experiencing this. It is a horrible thing to go through Flowers

so sorry. there is perhaps a small chance that it could be implantation bleeding? you'd need to ask for an early scan...

Rumpledfaceskin · 21/01/2018 10:29

Sorry flower it’s a waiting game. My doc advised me to go home and have lots of cups of tea. At the time I could have punched him but looking back it was pretty good advice! I would probably prepare for the worst to save even more disappointment although a bleed doesn’t necessarily mean it’s game over. If it’s a m/c it will be painful (wish someone had warned me) so make sure you have painkillers to hand and some support. It’s really really horrible but you will heal. Miscarriage association website was helpful. Flowers

It's not good news OP, but there is some hope. Lots of us have bled buckets and kept our babies. So just try and wait xx

Got a scan booked so having to just wait and try not to worry for the time being 😩 the pain has almost stopped completely but still bleeding quite heavily. Has anyone experienced this and continued to have a normal pregnancy?

Some people have had bleeds in early pregnancies which go on to be fine but usually, a big bleed that is painful is a miscarriage. Only a scan will help but I too would prepare for the worst.

I bled a lot in my first pregnancy and it was a miscarriage of one of the twins I was carrying. The other twin survived all the bleeding and is now a toddler. Only the scan showed what was happening. When is yours booked for?

ClareB83 · 21/01/2018 13:54

I bled a lot in this pregnancy at 9 and 11 weeks but both twins were fine. Currently 21 weeks. I didn't have any pain tho.

mamahanji · 21/01/2018 13:58

I know I'm quite an anomaly in the sense that even the doctors couldn't figure out why I was bleeding so much but I bled the entire way through with pain aswell and she's 3.5 now. Usually it isn't a good sign but not it's not always the end.

I don't know if that is helpful or harmful but You did ask if anyone had similar with a positive outcome.

I really hope your early scan goes well! Thanks

Don't give up hope. I had 3 bleeds in 1st trimester. The worst being between 6-7 weeks with terrible pain. Expected the worse but had scan and all was ok. They never knew what caused bleeding. I'm now 28 weeks! The waiting is the worse but look after yourself and the scan will give you the answers

cheshiremama89 · 21/01/2018 16:21

I bled lightly and everything was fine, due on Thursday!

How much have you lost? It can sometimes look worse on underwear yet in a pad not too bad x

FlowerPower100 · 21/01/2018 16:43

@FlowerPower100 try not to worry.

My early scan showed a heartbeat even after a bleed! It's out of your hands so try and rest xx

FlowerPower100 · 21/01/2018 17:49

@cheshiremama89 your right. I have had a cry & now just trying to forget about it until my scan. Thank you x
