I'm 24 weeks pregnant on Monday and in agony with Acid Reflux/ Indigestion Angry

It's my second baby if that makes any difference Altho had heartburn with my first and milk/ milkshakes seemed to help. Altho this is worse...gaviscon is my best friend but only works for short amount of time..

Is there anything you wonderful ladies can share with me that eases the feeling or any tips how to control it as nowhere near 40 weeks and dreading the thought of having to put up with it for another possibly 16/17 weeks.

Many thanks xx

Call your doctors and ask for a prescription for ranitidine.
Mine was so bad even glasses of water were giving me reflux it was horrific but these cleared it up straight away. I took them all the last weeks in pregnancy and not had an issue

Think the doctor can prescribe Omeperazole which works wonders.

Also tilt up slightly while sleeping, have a mint to suck on before sleep or something neutral to help digestion. Avoid fizzy drinks before bed etc
My heartburn and acid was so bad it's destroyed my teeth which will be removed after this baby is born.

Doctors finally gave me ranitidine at 35 weeks. Not quite sure how I managed to get that far without it as it has been a lifesaver! It got to the point where I could no longer keep food or drink down before they would do something! I still occasionally have the need for a gaviscon at night time but honestly nowhere near as bad!

Omeprazole from your GP, definitely. It's life changing!

Try apples, I had the worst heartburn in the world and eating an apple gave me blessed relief. It does me that at 2am I had to have a stash of apples next to the bed when I woke up gagging from the acid!

I'm on omprezole. It's safe in pregnancy and has been brilliant. I can sleep lying down now! Speak to your dr. I couldn't take gaviscon, I actually threw it up. Not pleasant.

Don’t drink tea!

If you drink tea, give it up!

Good luck.

I second omeprozol. It has been a life saver. I have been on it for months and it works amazing.
