Hi @laurenforbes, there’s a May 2018 thread if you look on ante natal club section! Congratulations by the way! I’m end of May Smile

Kittypillar · 20/01/2018 01:16

Oh my goodness, that's quite late to find out! Congratulations :) I'm due middle of May.

Whatamuddleduck · 20/01/2018 07:59

Congratulations! There is also a Facebook group which is quite active if you want to join us there? I'm due 1st May.

LittleFox01 · 20/01/2018 09:30

Ekphrasis · 20/01/2018 11:22

And wow I can’t believe you have just found out! I’m in so much pain from SPD.
Did you not notice any pains or movements etc? I know somebody who found out with 2 weeks to go and my step dads sister gave birth on the toilet without ever knowing!! I find it CRAAAAAZY lol. Congratulations Flowers

Oh I'm due May 8th to! But I don't only feel flutters nothing more .. guess I'm lucky. I'm not quite sure about the stuff I should be getting yet? Or is there anything I need to be doing to prepare myself? Totally lost!

Ah a few of us for the 8th May 😊 I have been very organised and have pretty much everything bought that's needed, just need to sort the nursery out as it's all just currently stored in there. I have tried to stick to bare minimum on what we need but it's so hard to stop buying 🙈 I'm going to start preparing our hospital bags later today, as I have a fear of going into labour early and nothing being ready.

Feel free to private message me and I will help and give advise where I can. He will be my first, so all very new to me but happy to have a chat and due date buddy!

There is currently a Baby event at most supermarkets such as Asda, Tesco, Aldi, Morrison's and Sainsbury's , so they are definitely worth a look. I got a few bits from Aldi and got some socks from Tesco for £1 in the sale. So a few bargains to be had. They also do bigger furniture too but I already have most of that. X

I'm really new to this app so I don't even know how to private message?

thanks for all the help/support.

Just to reassure you Lauren, I've done nothing! It's my second though. I think I started looking at prams and slings at this point and reading about hospital bags etc. Started an antenatal group at around 30 weeks which helped. And a couple of books that do list helpful 'stuff to get'.

Join the boots baby club for a free change bag. I'm using that for the pram and back pack for sling or out and about further afield.

It's worth finding out about breastfeeding if you hope to do so. Every thing is geared to the birth and I think I found the feeding the hardest bit where you need to find support. Support in hospital and from mw can be patchy but there's lots of really good peer support groups and services, Helplines etc.

I'm pretty organised at the minute...we've bought a lot of things in the sales. New born clothes/bottles/pram
But this is our 2nd so we have stuff from before. We are going to get a sleepyhead deluxe though this time, a new baby monitor, mattress for the cot bed, bedding etc.
I've made a list of what we need and just ticking off as and when we've bought it.

We're not buying any 0-3 months clothes this time, as that's what you usually get given as gifts and our son didn't fit in any of the ones we bought until he was between 6-8 weeks! So we had to send the grandparents out on a mad shop to get new born and tiny baby clothes!

Ekphrasis · 21/01/2018 20:22

Ditto getting the sleepy head delux!

My son was averse to cots...

KittyKK · 22/01/2018 08:34

Congrats OP! I’m due 7th May with second baby (first will be 2.5 yrs when new baby arrives).

Did all of my baby shopping yesterday online. For any FTMs, I really like the quality of Asda and Next baby clothes.

If you’re looking to buy a Snuzpod, join Boots Advantage Card and tick Parenting Club for extra cash back. The Snuzpod is £199 online (same price I found everywhere else), but Boots does a £20 rebate on it (under Parenting Club). Plus I had an online Advantage Card voucher on my account (didn’t know till I logged in yesterday) of spend £20, get another £4 rebate. Really good offers. And they had 3 for 2 on maternity pads etc.

P.s. the Sleepyhead is amazing! Will be using it in the Snuzpod this time around
