Hi there, new to this page. I’ve been told I could be miscarrying as 2 wks ago I had a scan and was only a sac and yolk sac, back today hoping to see fetal pole and nothing except the yolk sac has got bigger as has the sac so I’m a bit like why would it grow if I was miscarrying any advice would be appreciated. My partner thinks I'm earlier than once thought.

Hi op so sorry to hear this, I'm not sure I can be of much help but do you know how far along you should be? I understand they can see a heartbeat from around 7 weeks (if I remember from back when I had fortnightly early scans).

What have the Drs said? Have they asked you to come back or took any blood work? What was the reason you had such an early scan? Sorry for all the questions just thinking hopefully someone with a little more experience will see this thread xxx

Supposedly 7 weeks, nope not offered bloods just said to let nature take its course and if it doesn't then back for a scan. I'm praying for a miracle, had 3 past miscarriages. If I do miscarry I have to get bloods done to try and get to the bottom of why it's happening. Xx

I'm really sorry but I think I would prepare for the worst here. It sounds like that's what they thought too, with 'let nature take its course'? I'm so sorry but if you had a visible sac two weeks ago then you must have been at least 5 weeks, and at 7 weeks not being able to see a pole and heartbeat isn't a good sign. I do think they should have taken your blood to confirm, though.

I'm really sorry, I've been exactly where you are, and it's horrible. I wasn't sure whether to post this, and I hope I'm wrong and there's more hope than I've suggested, but I don't think I'd have wanted anyone to encourage me to get my hopes up in your situation.

I would ask for bloods to be taken. Your HGC level (pregnancy hormone) should be doubling every 24 hours so they take bloods 2 days apart and from the results they can tell if it is a continuing pregnancy.

I'm so sorry you're going through this.
I've been in a similar situation, sac kept growing only there was no baby inside (blighted ovum)
I really really hope this isn't the case for you but as pp said I'd be preparing for the worst. I'm so sorry.

I'm really sorry - I hope you've got someone to look after you. Be really kind to yourself, and take things as easy as you want to Flowers
