Period type pain at 23 weeks

I'm 23+2 weeks pregnant with DC2 and for the last day or so have been having what feels like that dull painful ache of period pain. Particularly around the lower front of belly. I've consulted Dr Google who advises that it's either completely normal or premature labour.

I'm not overly worried but it is a little concerning. I generally feel quite unwell anyway due to hyperemesis so it's difficult to tell if my usual extreme nausea/exhaustion is another symptom.

Baby is moving A LOT and repeatedly stabbing me in the fanny. Presume this may be linked.

Has anyone else has this?

Hi I had something similar to this when I was pregnant (my LO now 8 months old). My pregnancy was really good I didn’t have any symptoms no sickness or cravings but did have the occasional tummy ache, the dull ache like period pains. Put it down to my body changing and growing a tiny human and I was absolutely fine. Told my MW and she agreed all fine too and said only to worry if the pain was so bad I could get around normally. But to put your mind at ease just give your MW a ring tomorrow if you can (I had mobile number for mine) or ring docs on Monday. Hope this helps x

Thank you that's really helpful. I can get around normally, so that's a good sign Smile

Could you have a uti? Can cause similar sensations and worth checking out via a urine dip at your GP.

Possibly, does feel a bit UTIish. Will see GP if it's still bad on Monday. Much prefer a UTI to premature labour!

If you get really concerned or even just to put your mind at ease ring 111. They can get you a docs appointment then if necessary x
