Scratching feeling....

Hi

I'm new and this is my first post. I've been lurking for a few weeks but finally plucked up the courage to post!

I'm 15 weeks pg with my first baby and for the last few days I've had this wierd feeling in various bits of my (already huge!) bump, generally quite low down. It feels like being lightly scratched on the inside. It tends to stop if I rub it for a while but happens a few times a day. Could this be the baby moving? Everyone I've spoken to IRL has said that it feels more like a fluttering or tickling but this is definitely more like scratching!

Also, is it normal to have a big bump this early on? My midwife was surprised at the size of it when I saw her last week and now I'm worried I'll be giving birth to a massive baby!

Thanks,
ziggy xxxx

hi ziggy and welcome !

sounds like movements... i felt my first baby move at 16 weeks, and i was heeeoooge!! LOL!

the size of your bump at this stage does not indicate you are having a huge baby, i always looked much further on, and had two average babies, 7 lb 13 and 7 lb 8 ! so please don;t worry ! x

fundal height is how high the top of the uterus is, the midwife should measure and record it every time you go for an antenatal check..on the whole, the number of weeks pregnant you are corresponds with the height in centimetres.....but it can vary..just gives an indication of growth
