So I’ve been really stupid! I have bad dry skin on the back of my hand so have been using this Vaseline type product but only today realised it has camphor oil and rosemary oil in it, both of which you are supposed to avoid in pregnancy!

I’ve probably used just enough to cover the back of my hand, just a couple of times but have definitely inhaled it.

Are these things harmful only in large amounts or have I done damage already?

Honestly I wouldn't have thought the amount you will have inhaled while using such a small amount just a few times wont have caused harm. If you're really worried you could double check with your midwife but I really wouldn't be too worried about that amount. Not like you've been sat next to a diffuser or in a steamy bath with it in for hours

I'd been using several abortifacients daily in baths (didn't find out I was pregnant until 16 weeks) and when I asked the consultant if I had likely done any harm, he laughed at me. I don't think that that was quite fair, but it's certain it didn't seem to do any damage to my 6'1 rugby-playing, medical student DS! I would try to avoid them going forwards, just in case (and because, if anything happens, you'll blame yourself for using them) - but honestly, I was using 20 drops a day of various things I like (like clary sage) in baths on a daily basis, as well as using them in a burner all day: like I say, had I known, I obviously wouldn't have - but they genuinely didn't seem to cause any harm, even though I worried obsessively about having done so until long after his birth.

Cross post Grin - just to reiterate, I am definitely not advocating anyone follows my example (I didn't for DT)

Thank you both, no I certainly won’t be using them again.

Yeah not quite right to be laughed at Twatty! Especially because that’s what they are there for to be asked and provide reassurance. I’m 24 weeks so hopefully it will be fine
