Hello - wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone. I'm 13+5 weeks pregnant and today have been having the weirdest pains and strong aches down my left leg, lower back and my tummy/bump feels very tight and sore. As if there is loads of pressure - more like it feels full term really. Don't remember this from last time....also really constipated (the joys!). Could that contribute to the aches and does anyone know anything that helps (other than fruit and veg and water)? Feeling pretty rubbish so any help much appreciated!

Hi hlj,

I've had this on and off for the past couple of weeks too (I'm 15 weeks). For me, it's definitely related to constipation so I drink a large glass of orange juice in the morning and try to eat lots of fruit during the day. I also tried prunes and they worked but I don't really like the taste!

Hope that helps,
ziggy

Yep, constipation. Get some Normacol and have porridge for breaky (real oats not the instant stuff). Worked for me!

All bran with raisins on and digestive biscuits seemed to work for me.

Laculose solution softens you up(can buy over the conter in Boots or free on perscription)

senokot bran powder provides bulk (can buy in supermarkets)

Senna tablets (may not be advised so check with midwife)

Thank you all! I ate loads of fruit yesterday and whilst it's not back to normal, the pains seem to have go away whcih was the worrying bit. I shall continue with the other suggestions too. Thanks!
