Hi everyone,

Coming up 37 weeks, the baby has dropped and is engaged. My legs, hips, pelvis are absolute agony. The soreness and pressure down below is agony too.
I’m thinking this is just my body getting ready and preparing. Would I be correct?

Hi there. I'm 35+2 with a breech positioned baby. I've just started with sore hips and inner thigh ligaments, sounds similar to you although my baby is not engaged. Still got really painful ribs when lying down, had this on and off for months.
I think the lower body stuff is caused by everything loosening and stretching ready for birth. Rib pain I think is just rib cage expanding as baby pushes all the organs up and it takes up more and more room!

Very uncomfortable here. Hope yours eases up. Bouncing on exercise ball help?

Also 37 weeks with dreadful spd and lower back pain. Unfortunately it’s just the loosening etc down below and getting ready. With DD1 I was bed bound from about 2pm. This time I don’t have that luxury but still in agony.
Chat to your midwife about physio although they may say too late. Get a belly band if you don’t have one. Also sleep with pillows between your legs so your hips stay even. I had my physio appointment last week and they said to try to reduce putting that area under strain, regular moving position, try to avoid going up & down stairs too much and short walks rather than long. Not long left!x
