.... sorry, pressed post far too soon! The midwife said that there was blood in my urine as well as leukocytes so they sent the sample off to be tested. They suspected a urine infection, which I was surprised about at the time as I didn’t have any symptoms. When I phoned the surgery on a Friday to see if my results had come through, they said they hadn’t.

Now this morning I have woken up with mild lower back pain and my wee first thing this morning was very dark and looked like it had blood in it... the blood was definitely in my wee and not coming from anywhere else and baby is kicking away nicely.

Do you think I should wait until surgery is open tomorrow to check this checked up, or should I get it checked out today? I have just had a change of midwife, so I don’t have a number to call.

Thanks

I had very similar symptoms (blood In urine but no symptoms of UTI) in my first pregnancy and it turned out I had kidney stones.

Definitely call out of hours or 111 today - I you say you're pregnant with a possible UTI/kidney infection they should see you.

Hope it improves.

Um neither your sample has already been sent off, just wait for the results. If you go into urgent care they'll just take another sample and the first one will come back before that one.

They need to know what exactly you've got to prescribe the right antibiotic.

I had this several times in both pregnancies and when a second sample was taken and tested in the lab, there was never any issue. Was very strange.

I had this at a similar gestation and it has turned out to be gallstones.
