This is my second baby and I’m now 24 weeks. I don’t remember having any the first time around so I’m just wondering what they really feel like? Just curious as google vs real women’s experiences can sometimes be v v different! Thanks all x

I suppose it’s like pressure. A full feeling?

creamcheeseandlox · 11/01/2018 18:49

I had them quite often. I had no pain but all of a sudden my bump would go really hard and a funny shape and almost take my breath away would last a few seconds then go back to normal.

IsaSchmisa · 11/01/2018 18:52

Sometimes period pains, sometimes stabby. I sometimes got a pain in my thigh.

Backhometothenorth · 11/01/2018 18:56

Felt like a tightening and hardening of bump to me- not painful but not entirely pleasant either.

bettydraper31 · 11/01/2018 19:02

Hmm okay thanks everyone! x

I was the same as creamcheese, bump would go hard and tight, into a funny shape where I could almost make out babys position. Didn't hurt at all but just felt weird then would relax after a minute or so.

RosieCotton · 11/01/2018 20:49

I'm with the other ladies. I didn't have pain as such just tightness round bump and it passed in a minute or so.

Kidsarekarma · 11/01/2018 20:53

Someone on here described it as your bump being shrink wrapped from the inside - exactly how it felt for me! Not painful, just weird.

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 11/01/2018 21:33

Yes, tightness, a contraction all over the bump. They could take my breath away, but weren't as such painful. Labour pains started quite differently and were located lower down at first.

fannythrobbing · 11/01/2018 21:40

I've just had one! Tightness in the bump but I weirdly also feel some pressure in my chest (might be from things pushing up against the diaphragm maybe?). No pain at all though

OlennasWimple · 11/01/2018 21:42

Tightness all over my bump - like the world's most effective skin toner. Not pain, just uncomfortable, and looked v odd

Muse84 · 11/01/2018 21:59

I got them so frequently, almost every 10 mins for huge chunks of time late pregnancy. My stomach would go rock hard in a weird pointy shape. If I was walking it would become a bit uncomfortable (like I needed to pee). But the strangest part was feeling winded and breathless, that was always the first sign. I'd get that then feel my stomach and realise it had gone hard.

They were never painful. And I think my uterus enjoyed the practice as birth was super fast! Confused

Tightening and hardening of bump. Not painful.

Thanks everyone x

I don’t get them often but when I do, my bump will go hard and I’ll get period like cramps
