Stingy nipples

Sorry for the awful title and embarrassing question, but does anyone have any tips for easing nipple pain?

I’m 20 weeks and they are so sore, I feel like they’ve been burnt or something and are stingy in my bra. They’ve been pretty tender most of the pregnancy to date but extra sore tonight!

You could try coconut oil, it has antibacterial properties and can be used whilst pregnancy and afterwards during breast feeding as it's safe to use during breastfeeding too. The things women have to go through...Flowers

pregnant that should say

Same! Never happened with my other two pregnancies, but this time I hit 20 weeks and my nipples are super sensitive.
Try breastpads to protect them from your bra if it’s too bad, lansinoh breastpads are super comfy (or was years ago when I used them) Smile

You can get woolen breast pads which may help.
Mine never burnt but felt I was rubbing them with sandpaper in first trimester so used some fluffy breast pads.
If the stinging is inside, could be thrush. Hmm as thats what it feels like breastfeeding, like inside nipple daggers.

Sorry no help but I read thing as "stinjy" (ie tight with money) and thought your nips were being mean!

FWIW I had horrible itchy sore boobs through both pregnancies. It's your system organising itself for breastfeeding. Not much I found to soothe them other than regular moisturiser.

Hahaha @Glitterspy!!

Thanks all. @Loosemoose28 it doesn’t feel like it’s inside so hopefully nothing untoward. To be honest they have gone massive compared to normal so I am hoping it’s just them growing that’s sore.

Thank you @Magic28 and @BigBaboonBum I’ll try some coconut oil tonight and perhaps invest in some pads.

Honestly, no one warns you about this stuff!! 😂
