37 weeks UTI or something else?

I'm 37+4 have found having a wee this morning really painful (stinging) so I'm concerned I have cystitis (again!) although none of the other symptoms.
I'm going to try and see my GP, but it's often very tricky to get an appointment and wondered if this is something I should be concerned about in late pregnancy or can 'hold fire' until I get an appointment. Are antibiotics safe in late pregnancy? Do you think it could be symptom of something else?

Thanks x

No definately go to the gp sounds like could be a uti. If you tell the practice you are preggers they should see you asap.
Yes most antibiotics are ok in late pregnancy, the dr will prescribe one suitable for use in pregnancy.

Please please get seen as soon as possible. I had a terrible UTI at 36 weeks with ds2, did nothing about it and he was born prematurely at 36.5 (after I'd haemorraghed - sorry don't mean to scare you). The UTI irritated the womb lining and cause a premature labour - 999, ambulance etc etc.

Wow, I've actually managed to get a GP appointment for this morning - a miracle -and I didn't even have to say I was preggas!!!

Fingers crossed it's nothing, but at least if it is I'll be able to get treated.

Well done! I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine once you get your antibiotics. I'd hate anyone to go through what I went through!

Good luck.
