Hey, just wondering if someone could help, I had severe gum pain on Sunday night, managed to get a dentist appointment on Monday, dentist just said I had sore gums, I am back in severe pain and gums feel all swollen, however I can't get a emergency appointment, I am debating going to a and e as I am in such severe pain and paracetamol isn't helping, I'm 15 weeks pregnant and have a heart condition, so hence if it is infected I need to get antibiotics! Help!!

So sorry mooselet that sounds horrible.
You should be able to get an emergency appt with another dentist if yours can’t see you. Most dentists offer emergency appointments to non patients.
Failing that I would call 111 and seek advice, they might be able to get you seen at an urgent care centre. I don’t think A&E is really the right place for you, but if it is then 111 will send you there.

The first thing you need is a diagnosis - don't be fobbed off. Hope you can get some help soon.

So sorry they were rubbish. I would call 111 then. That’s the official advice also www.nhs.uk/chq/pages/1776.aspx?categoryid=74

I rang 111 who were equally as rubbish and gave me a number of a dentist 25 miles away, I don't drive and told them that! Ended up calling midwife who suggest Doctors as they can give me antibiotics and better pain relief, got a appointment this afternoon
