Pale/pastel yellow discharge all of a sudden!!!

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm 21 weeks and for the past few days I've noticed that my discharge has become a pale/pastel yellow colour - it was its usual white before! It isn't accompanied by any irritation, swelling or foul smell, and it isn't clumpy or cottage-cheese-like - it literally just looks strange! I guess, smell-wise, it's maybe a little metallic, but I'm not sure if that differs from my usual discharge smell.

I first noticed this during sex the other day, and I noticed it again just now.

Anyone know what this might mean, or if it's a cause for concern? I was too embarrassed to bring it up at my antenatal appointment the other day, which I know was really silly and stupid of me!

Thanks!

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about, but always best to go and get some swabs done, might just be a bit of thrush or BV.

I’ve had this for weeks and have strep b so I just assumed it was related to that. Go to your gp and asked to be swabbed xx

I am starting to feel a bit "irritated" down there now, but it's still nothing out of the ordinary. I get that "irritated" feeling every now and then, I assume when things are a little off balance, but I never go on to need canesten or anything (it just goes away on it's own after a few days), and I never get this yellow colour^^ with it! Will defo book a GP appointment tomorrow!

@Mrstobe90 thanks for your response. How do you know you have strep b? I thought the NHS didn't provide tests for that? Or did you get tested privately?

@Mrstobe90 also, what's the procedure for if a woman is found to have strep b? I'm sure I read somewhere that she's advised to be put on a intravenous antibiotic during labor to protect baby? Is this something you're planning on doing? I guess that would mean women are tested for step b then? I'm so confused!

I had a bit of discomfort ‘down there’ a few months back so I went to my gp and she did a swab.
I came back positive for strep b and was advised to have IV antibiotics.

I’m having a home birth so spent weeks thinking about alternative ways to deal with the strep b in birth but none of them seemed promising so I spoke to my midwife and gp and have organised to have IV antibiotics at home :)

It’s not standard to test for strep so loads of women have it without knowing and go on to have healthy babies but if you have it and you do know, it just gives you that extra bit of safety.

Hope everything is ok xx
