Any ideas for gin substitutes? I miss the clinking of the ice, the lime wedge... 😫

Try lime wedge in lemonade with ice?

I craved baileys throughout my last pregnancy I gave birth and didn't want it anymore 😂

Bridechilla · 10/01/2018 20:17

Lemonade or soda water with bitters or grenadine? Seedlip spice isn't like a G&T but it def has that similar refreshing sour tangyness

Guineapiggiesmalls · 10/01/2018 20:17

Tesco do a very low alcohol pre-mix g&t, less than 0.1 unit a can...

drinkyourmilk · 10/01/2018 20:18

Amazon sell sell a none alcoholic gin. It's lovely

Bridechilla · 10/01/2018 20:18

Aldi/Lidl have a lovely Mexican Lime soda drink too

raspberrysuicide · 10/01/2018 20:22

Or just tonic water with ice and a lime wedge ?
I've drunk tonic water on its own before and you can kid yourself it's an actual g&t

PinkyBlunder · 10/01/2018 20:24

Elderflower, tonic water, lots of ice and lime.

I’ve also craved g&t’s throughout this one Sad

stuffstuffeverywhere · 10/01/2018 20:25

Fentinmans Jasmine and Elderflower

2gorgeousboys · 10/01/2018 20:26

There's a really good tee total gin and tonic from The Temperance Spirit company. Alternatively I would drink elderflower cordial and soda or lime and soda.

BuggersMuddle · 10/01/2018 20:29

Seedlip is genuinely very nice, if expensive. The Garden version is lovely with a wedge of grapefruit and Fever Tree tonic.

lookingforthecorkscrew · 10/01/2018 20:32

Ooooh you guys, this is great! Seedlip just seems so pricey for fake gin to me! Will look out for that Tesco G&T though!

Amazon often have Seedlip much cheaper. Keep an eye on the price. I got it for £18 on Boxing Day when I was preparing myself for dry January.

Efferlunt · 10/01/2018 20:35

Just tonic and lime? Friend used to pour herself a tiny bit of gin to swill round the glass and pour away then added the tonic.

gryffen · 10/01/2018 20:38

Our local sweet shop does G&T sweets - zero alcohol so safe for all but all the taste. Jack Daniels fudge is awesome.

TeaPleaseBob · 10/01/2018 20:39

I got a bottle of the seedlip for Christmas and it’s lovely. Have been drinking it with fever tree elderflower tonic and it’s like having a real g&t.

user1486365849 · 10/01/2018 20:54

Angostura bitters! Couple of drops in tonic and you wouldn’t taste the difference!

Bellamuerte · 10/01/2018 20:54

I was told tonic isn't safe to drink during pregnancy as it contains quinine (only a small amount but it adds up)

Buxbaum · 10/01/2018 21:13

That’s been disproved, Bellamuerte.

OP, seconding the recommendation for Seedlip and tonic - lovely with cucumber. If plain tonic with ice and lime isn’t cutting it you can also rub a bit of gin around the rim of the glass to get the lovely smell with each sip.

Or my trick - I make a g&t for DH and a seedlip & t for myself, then nick a sip of DH’s!

Oysterbabe · 10/01/2018 21:20

The Tesco cans of low alcohol g&t are actually pretty good.
