Travel Insurance to cover pregnancy?

Hello,
Not sure this is the correct board but maybe someone has some advice...
We have our honeymoon coming up at the end of February when I will be 20 weeks. As we are going long haul (Mauritius) we need to make sure that the pregnancy and any issues that may arise are covered.

We have booked the holiday with virgin but the lady was rather blunt when I asked her about Virgin Travel Insurance.

Any recommendations or experience which insurer to avoid?

Thank you!

no recommendation - but di check that the baby would also be covered.

If you are 20 weeks you won't need to cover the baby. That is for premature birth and earliest would be 23/24 weeks. Depends on how far along when you return home.

Most insurers will cover a normal pregnancy at no extra cost. Of course if there are any complications you'll need to declare them.

Will you have your anomaly scan before you go? It's usually done around 20 weeks so you might want to ask about booking that.

And congratulations on the wedding and pregnancy

There are a couple dedicated pregnancy travel insurers about and they cover everything from miscarriage/very early birth to transport back home to well you name it. Think the company is HOLIDAYSAFE.

Always worth while as anything can happen and not all insurance cover everything

I have just booked with Direct Line for two weeks in the US, they were really helpful and pregnancy is covered in their normal package.

Thank you @KadabrasSpoon Ahhh I had my dates mixed up I'll be 22 weeks when flying out, 24+2 when arriving back.
Yes. 20 Week Scan is 2 weeks before we go.
