Hi, I've done 3 Home tests within the last 10 days at home and all came back positive. Had to keep checking just to make sureHmmGrin.
Went to the nurse today, she did 2 tests and they both came back negative???

This happened to me. Positive on HPT but negative at doctor’s. Ended up with a blood test to confirm pregnancy. Is there any particular reason why the nurse needed to test you? False positives are very very rare so you are most likely pregnant.

MissMatthews · 10/01/2018 17:07

@Buxbaum I believe they need to confirm with their own tests before they can confirm. She's asked I go back next week and try again. Just so frustrating. I feel so deflated Sad

I have never had my pregnancy confirmed by a nurse. I would do a clearblue digi just to see the words for myself and then self refer to the midwife via GP receptionist.

MissMatthews · 10/01/2018 17:10

@MagicMoneyTree I did 2 normal Clear Blue tests, both had the positive result. This morning I did a Clear Blue Digi and it said Pregnant 1-2 weeks

No doubt about it! Congratulations! No need to feel deflated, she’s just a nurse with a crap pregnancy test!! X

Motherofbabydragons · 10/01/2018 17:20

I would refer yourself to midwife, it’s highly unlikely you would get that many positives and not be pregnant!

MissMatthews · 10/01/2018 17:40

Thank you ladies.
Feeling more "positive" now x

I had this with my daughter, she tried again with another test and it came
Up positive, the drs tests aren't as sensitive though

I've had five children and have never had a pregnancy confirmed by a gp or nurse.
In fact, from about the third one, I self referred to the maternity hospital. My last I just called my last midwife.

Tedster77 · 10/01/2018 22:40

Yup had kids and worked as a midwife and never known anyone have to test at the Drs apart from a woman with a history of presenting over a dozen times with fake pregnancies Sad. I’d say you are pregnant!!!!

Popskipiekin · 10/01/2018 22:44

I know that deflated feeling! Flowers I took clear blue, it said 1-2 weeks, doctor said BFN and sent me away with advice on what to do when trying to conceive! God I was pissed off and unhappy. I was 100% pregnant and now the owner of a 3 yo. Congrats on your pregnancy. You don’t have to go back to docs for another go if you don’t want - you can self refer to midwives at whichever hospital you want o give birth/have your appointments with.

MissMatthews · 10/01/2018 23:09

I'm not sure why they need to test within the practice. This is my second pregnancy but they did the same with my last. He's now 5 years olds! I may call the midwife tomorrow

I got a bfp at home
Was so sick I thought I had a sickness bug!
Such an amazing surprise 😬
Went to doctors next day and a nurse just dipped my urine which showed I was pregnant, she didn't and no one else since has done a test and I am now (happily and a lot less sick!) 14+3! X
