Not sure if this helps. But my friend was induced 18 months ago. They also used ventose. Went pretty smoothly and she was able to go home with a lovely 8lb baby boy soon afterwards. She did say it was annoying waiting for things to get going but it was worth it in the end :)

happymummy12345 · 10/01/2018 15:12

I measured 30 weeks at 37 weeks. I was fine. Baby was fine. Good luck.

Timeforanamochango · 10/01/2018 15:12

I had this the opposite way round with my first she measured 6 weeks ahead we were expecting her to be massive! She wasn’t at all. Sometimes the measurements are off, good luck for your scans.

Inductions can still be nice birth experiances Flowers

My brother was induced at 36 weeks, he'd stopped growing twice and my mum measured small. He was a tiny baby - just over 3lb, but he was fine and you wouldn't be able to tell now, 6ft tall rugby player. Smile Hope your scan goes well.

MotherOfDragons22 · 10/01/2018 15:46

Estimated to be 6.13 with a slightly big tummy so currently waiting for a blood test to check my bloods in case of GD.

6:13 is a good weight

gryffen · 10/01/2018 18:12

My daughter was born 6.13 in 2014 by induction and it was fine. No issues for her or me.

MotherOfDragons22 · 10/01/2018 22:12

They aren't inducing me at the moment, as her measurements are just fine apart from tummy being a little on the larger side. Hence the blood test. Will be seeing the consultant next week for review of the scan etc.

Happened to a friend, turns out that baby’s head had engaged and was measuring smaller because there was less of her to make a bump IYSWIM.

Soon2bemum2017 · 11/01/2018 04:44

I would be prepared for baby to be either larger or smaller than the scan and for things to change quickly.

With my LO i had Low Papp-A and when i had a growth scan at 37 weeks they told me he was over 8 lb and that he was a “good weight” only for him to come out just over 7lb and be on the 25th which is ok but not such a good weight and possibly an indication that not everything was ok as he growth had rapidly slowed throughout all scans.

Basically trust the scan but not enough to rule out Mothers Intuition. Sometimes Mums do know best.

Anyway I was induced and it was all ok infact it was quite quick in the end and I would happily be induced again.

MagicFajita · 11/01/2018 05:16

Growth scans can be very hit and miss op. I was sent for one at 36 weeks then again at 40 weeks. At 40 weeks I was told he was over 8lb. He was born at 42 weeks weighing just under 7lb.

Don't even get me started on the tape measure as it's possibly the most ridiculous way to measure the size of a baby I've ever seen. Especially if the head has began to engage.

I know you are concerned about your baby's stomach but I do remember being told how difficult it is for a sonographer to take measurements when a baby is so big. There's plenty of room for error there.

I do hope everything is ok op , do let us know how the test goes.

MagicFajita · 11/01/2018 05:19

Oh and I was induced. It was very quick.

Good luck with everything.

Newmummytobe2018 · 11/01/2018 12:26

Hi can I join? It’s my due date today! My little one has been measuring at 4 weeks behind the whole pregnancy MW said heart beat is strong and all is okay just going to have a tiny baby. I hope everything goes okay for you! X

Soon2bemum2017 · 11/01/2018 17:08

Just to add the scans are so inaccurate everyone failed to notice I had excessive waters.

It was so bad that my waters properly went in hospital on the ward and then when i had the baby in delivery and i spoke about it the midwife down there said was i sure they had gone as when he came out she thought they went then!
