Early pregnancy back pain

Hi, I am only 5 weeks pregnant but since 3.5 weeks I have had severe lower back pain which is making work almost impossible. My doctor didn’t seem to take it very seriously and just said to rest but continue my normal routine! So I have 2 questions, have other women experienced this and how long did it last? Thanks!

Hi @Nichola2310 I'm 5w now. One of my first symptoms - even before my missed period was an achey lower back. Apparently it's caused by ligaments stretching to make room for baby. It's not so bad now.

A few friends have said their back ache lasted into week 6.

I had a very achy lower back in the early weeks. A pillow between your knees when you sleep will make a massive difference. Seems small but it really works. Mine eased off after a few weeks and is only coming back now at 30 weeks as baby's weight puts more pressure on my back.
