Reduced movement questions..

Hi all,

I have been over to the triage unit 3 times now with reduced movement, each time they have done a trace and said it has been perfect, 2nd and 3rd time they did a scan and have said that she is growing fine. The blood flow through the cord is fine too.
What I’m wondering is, has anyone else experienced this and there not be an issue? I feel embarrassed because there isn’t an issue and she’s growing great. I’m 35 weeks.

Thanks

I went in with reduced movements 3 times with my first. The first 2 times, everything was fine and I also had scans which showed blood flow was normal. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right and went in for a third time when I was 36+4. I was on the monitor for over an hour without problems and then the baby’s heart rate suddenly dropped below 100bpm and took 5 minutes to come back up again. We continued to have issues with the heart rate and baby was delivered by EMCS less than 24 hours later.

I went in 6/7 times with my second and the trace was fine each time. Baby was born at term without any issues.

No but keep going back even if you feel embarrassed - your instinct will be the best thing to protect your baby and you must go back if you feel something isn’t right. Even if you end up there every day!

In vast majority of cases everything will be normal, but reduced movements can be indicative of a problem, equally can be a sign of nothing.. just be by in a different position or having a longer kip

Don't feel embarrassed to go
You must go every time you feel something isn't right.

They will not judge you they will not be thinking anything other than you're a concerned mother and want reassuring. If you feel like something is wrong you go back even if it's the same day.
