Miscarry/ectopic without bleeding or pain?

This is ridiculous, this is my 3rd pregnancy, but is an 9 year gap, and I’ve got myself in a state

Is it possible to lose your baby/have an ectopic without bleeding or extreme pain?

I am hopefully 7 plus 5, we knew we were pregnant immediately as was IVF (own eggs and sperm, two implanted)

Almost immediately I had strong symptoms, sickness, reflex, sensitive nipples, extreme fatigue, I found this comforting obviously, but now they all vanished, I have lost a little weight (then again I was craving Chinese so had 4 in one week and 3 the next 😳, this has now ceased)

I keep getting pains in my abdomen, mainly low down, or upper left, not severe pains, kind of a cross between cramp and stitch, feels like a pulled muscle

I had a friend at the same stage of pregnancy as I now hopefully am who had an ectopic, when she had IVF (12 years ago), the advice she got was just to lie down after implementation, legs up, and in hindsight they now think this may have caused it, so I was trying to stay active, I went into a cleaning frenzy last week and was pulling sofas out, hoovering everything and scrubbing bathrooms, I didn’t stop, and probably did overdo it

I have done another test (well loads more), still getting an immediate strong positive, but I am also aware that all the hormones would still be in my body

My other pregnancies were textbook, but with this being ivf, I am worried that I have messed my body about with all the injections and hormones and it will reject the pregnancy

I have a private scan on Wednesday, but my DH has gone to work, and I am sitting here in a state about everything and don’t know whether to prepare myself, or comfort myself

I should add, I have never known I was pregnant this early before, so I wouldn’t have noticed symptoms coming and going, or mild pain

Well you can miscarry without pain or bleeding, known as a missed miscarriage.

But I don't think you have any reason to suspect this. Symptoms come and go and the pains you're describing sound like your uterus growing.

I’m glad your getting a scan on Wednesday that will put your mind at ease. I’ve had 6 mc and 1 suspected etopic. ( pregnancy of unknown location) my first 5 mc were spontaneous with cramping and heavy bleeding. My suspected etopic was from my clomid baby. I was 6 weeks and started having brown spotting I had pain that was one sided and far worse than any of my other mc’s even tho they were further along. As the days past it felt like the right side of my uterus was on fire and I spotted brown blood for over a week. Mine resolved itself my bloods were monitored and fell very slowly although they never went over 1000. I believe that If your baby was etopic you know about it I know that some ladies don’t but the nurse at EPU said that’s rare but they were more than happy to monitor bloods to put my mind at ease. Obviously everyone is different and if your at all worried go to A+E

I’m now 9 +5 weeks pregnant with my surprise (nearly passed out from shock 😂) rainbow baby after over 5 years ttc, 9 failed rds of clomid and basically being told I was infertile. Like you I was in a state of stress when I first found out I was pregnant convinced myself that it was etopic due to a one sided ache I spoke with my GP who sent me to EPU for a scan at 6 weeks. Baby is in the right place with heartbeat all perfect. The ache was from a cyst and is quite common in early pregnancy.
I think your worry is because after your friend having IVF ending in a etopic you believe the same will happen to you. I can completely understand that worry. Pregnancy tests will tell you nothing. I told myself every day multiple times a day (out loud like a crazy person) that I’m pregnant today, I’ve got no cramping or bleeding so I’ve got nothing to worry about. I also would remind myself that me being worried something would go wrong wouldn’t change the outcome. It honestly helped. My dh was/still is really positive that this time it’s for keeps so I feed of his positivity and he is always happy to reassure me.
I’ve had 2 further scans, both private one at 7 weeks and one on Friday just gone as I have no pregnancy symptoms. They’ve definitely helped my anxiety. Again I know some ladies say there’s no point but for me knowing I can book a scan and check my little one is ok helps. Could you move yours forward ?

Also just because your friend had a etopic doesn’t mean you will and trying to explain the reason why it happened is pointless as nobody can ever really know but I don’t believe that we can cause them by lying down with your legs up for a minute.
I know it’s easier said that done but be really kind to yourself and try to relax. At this moment in time you’ve no reason to believe your baby isn’t perfect. Happy to hand hold till Wednesday and keeping my fingers crossed for a lovely scan for you

* jut to add I no experience mmc but I second what Clare said

Thank you so much for your reassurance, it really helps, there isn’t anything that anyone could do at this stage, so I’m just keeping everything crossed until Weds, thank you again

Scan done, there’s a little heart beat Smile, only one embryo from the two implanted, small, as should be 8 weeks, but measuring 7 weeks and 3 days, however all looks ok, but can already see DH’s nose developing 🤥😹

I get to use this emoji .... 🤰🏼

Thanks for your reassurances x
