Wisdom tooth coming through! Nooo! Now what?

Hi everyone, my wisdom tooth has started to come through whilst I’m 20 weeks and knock right into the tooth next to it and causing a lot of pressure (which I’m sure will change to horrifying pain at some point). It isn’t fully out yet so I’m not entirely sure it’s possible to have taken out... or is it? Also is it safe to have done so?

Check with your dentist as some may refuse due to pregnancy and local anesthetic etc.

i do know your not allowed to get fillings when pregnant (our dentist is clear on that) and after a certain point they will refer you to the dental hospital for treatment.

for time being, try some Clove oil - tastes horrific like burning but works - just have a glass of water on standby

Long time wisdom tooth sufferer here, I feel your pain 🙁 I don't think they will take it out unless you have recurring infections, at least they didn't offer to take mine out right away, took about 7 flare ups and courses of antibiotics over 2 years before the dentist said let's get them out! Just keep it clean, rinse with hot salty water or corsadil or listerine after every meal. If it does get infected (the pain steps up a level, talking or swallowing becomes really painful) then you might need antibiotics, might be best to just book in a trip to the dentist anyway. Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you for the replies. I’m absolutely dreading it flaring up - I’d rather go through labour than have toothache!! I’m just going to brush excessively

I'm in the same boat. Wisdom tooth ache started on Friday. I'm 39 weeks pregnant. Got an appointment tomorrow. Really annoying and poorly timed!
