Hi girls, just looking for reassurance really. I am 16 weeks and had some light spotting last week. I had none up till then. I have been for a scan and internal and all looks ok but I am still quite concerned and worried ! I had a couple more 'spots' over the weekend but I am hoping they just 'dissapear' now !!

I keep telling myself that this is common and not to worry ! Did anyone else have this ?

I had a two or three small bleeds during the middle stages of my pregnancy. For each one I had a trip to my local labour suite and each time was monitored, checked etc and nothing wrong was ever found. My DD is now 18 weeks old and is fab - no probs. However, I am Blood group A Negative and so had to have some Anti D injections. The first time I bled, my GP failed to even ask me my blood group or check my notes and being totally ignorant of Rhesus neg complications, I didn't tell him. My midwife picked it up a week later luckily. Not sure if that reassures or adds further to your worries! Hope all is well. If concerned, go to your GP or phone your midwife. You are NOT wasting their time!!! Don't wait and worry.

BB, it's scarey isnt it? I bled on and off up till 12 wks, then again at 16, 18 and 20 wks. I was a nervous wreck each time. Although bleeding can indicate the start of a mc, it is very common and can happen up to and beyond 20 wks. It is often due to cervical erosion. I was given scans and reassurance each time it happened due to my miscarriage history but the midwives always told me it was unlikely to be anything to worry about. It seems to have stopped now and the baby is fine. HTH
