Hello, can you freeze breast milk if u express ?
Im aware that literature says you can but people are telling me its dangerous ?

You have to have the correct equipment to ensure safe storage though.

Yes you can - you can get breast milk storage bags which are sterilised. Kellymom website is excellent for any info on bottle or breastfeeding.

I did, get some good milk storage bags and write the date and time you expressed. Milk will last 6 months in the freezer. X

I did but I hated the chemically smell when I defrosted it so chucked it all.

Perfectly safe. It lasts 6 months in the freezer if stored correctly.

Completely safe. The people telling you otherwise are simply wrong.

It’s common for defrosted breast milk to have a soapy smell or taste due to high levels of lipase, which is probably what happened to Kungdom. This is remedied by scalding the milk (heat to 82 degrees then cool quickly and freeze).
