Hi

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and went for a growth scan yesterday at my local hospital they measured my little girl to be weighing 4 lbs and 5 ozs Shock due to my baby actually measuring 2 weeks over my dates they want to test for gestational diabetes! This has scared me as I've read up online some very worrying risks due to having this, I am 22 years old , white British , and have a healthy BMI so do not fall under the "risk factor" for developing this! Do you ladies think my chance of this test coming back to show I do have it are low?? And if anyone has any reassuring stories that would also help I'm freaking out abit Blush

Only 15-20% of GTT's come back positive - it's a screening test.

I work in a GDM clinic & a fair proportion don't fall within the usual "at risk" groups eg ethnic minority, obese, 35+, previous large baby etc.

Have a look at the NICE guidelines; they are reasonably up to date, but local practice may vary.
