Hi All

Is there anyone out there that has fallen pregnant after taking EllaOne and had a healthy baby?
I'm worried that this may be the case with me, and can't find any success stories of healthy babies after taking it?

I already have one child and didn't think I was ready for another, but I would still be happy if I knew he/she would be born healthy without any issues....

Concerned mum x

Hi j2000
The current scientific evidence is that you have the same chance of a healthy pregnancy as anyone else. (I work in healthcare so looked up the guidelines for you).
You should tell your GP or midwife though because they need to report it as a treatment failure. Or you can report it yourself- google MHRA yellow card.
I hope things work out for you.

Hi J2000Web, I am just wondering if you successfully carried on with your pregnancy after Ella One and have you had the baby yet? And did you ever find any other success stories? I am currently 25wks pregnant after taking Ella One back in April but after my husband going on this morning about his concerns about birth defects etc, it has made me start worrying again. He hasn't accepted this pregnancy and hasn't been very supportive and this morning said its because he's so worried. We already have three healthy children (8, 5 and nearly 3) and although we wanted a 4th, it is really bad timing financially which is why I agreed to take the MAP in the first place. Wish I hadn't taken it now! However I had accepted the little miracle was "meant to be" and was looking forward to it until he has made me start worrying again! I contacted HRA Pharma who said “EllaOne (ulipristal actetate) has until now (June 2018) been used by approx. 20 million women worldwide with no new safety issues identified.
Available human data regarding pregnancy exposure to ulipristal actetate do not suggest any safety issues.” I know I should believe them but I don't really trust pharmaceutical companies and just want to hear some real life stories! Just looking for some other people who went on to have babies after Ella One but nobody seems to come forward! Hope everything worked out for you! x
