Just a vent Grin

Oh my god! I'm 24 weeks pregnant and the exhaustion is back with a vengeance. I felt like this from about 6-14 weeks and then it eased.

But over Christmas and NY its back - I'm not sleeping great, and feel dreadful when I have to get up. I plod on at work through the day, have a burst of energy when I get home then I'm slumped again.

I'd hoped I'd have got to 30+ plus weeks before feeling like this again.

Maternity leave still feels like a loooong way off 😴

I feel your pain - I'm 21 weeks today and I'm still waiting for that mythical "burst of energy" that I was told I'd get again during the second trimester! Felt relatively back to normal after the sickness otherwise (which was a relief!), but still just feel absolutely wiped for most of the day.

Only thing that has helped even a bit has been eating little and often more so and getting fresh air during the work day as much as possible. Plus a lot sleep in the evenings! Maybe mention to your midwife as she might want to check your iron levels too? Hope that helps.

By a lot of sleep in the evenings, I also mean try to nap if you can as well as just going to bed for the night. Not ideal but did seem to help a bit when I didn't try to stick the evening out.

I’m 20 weeks and still waiting for the second trimester return of energy I’ve been promised.

I was hideously sick weeks 6-15 and I’m still sick most days even at 20 weeks Envy

I am utterly exhausted and have not felt like my normal self since week 6. Sad

Meanwhile I have pregnant friends who are still running 10k and I want to know how?!

I was pretty fit and sporty before getting pregnant but now even 10 minutes walking knackers me out. Not a chance I could run Sad

Finding it so hard and depressing.

Thanks both for your replies - it's so hard! I've been very lucky and had no sickness at all so you have my sympathies there.

@Kittypillar when I first fell pregnant I was in bed by 8 most nights. I've been able to go up about 10 these last few weeks and feel fine but not this morning. Should be home from work about 5.15 so think I'll have a power nap before tea and then an early night.

@RedL0rryYellowLolly I know what you mean! Everyone else seems to be fine just 'getting on with it', I do feel like a wimp complaining that I'm tired. But it's a tiredness like nothing I've ever known! My rubbish diet over Christmas and NY won't have helped I don't think, both DH and I have shaped our meals up the last couple of days so hopefully that will give me more energy.

I'm feeling exactly the same, I'm glad it's not just me. I'm 21+5 and I thought the tiredness was because I had a cold over Christmas but the tiredness hasn't gone away! Was also hoping I'd be ok through this trimester.

ClaireBear1986 · 04/01/2018 10:59

I'm 25 weeks and I have found the tiredness in the 2nd trimester a lot worse than the 1st. Had a few mini breakdowns and tears recently as I have felt that tired.
Not sure how I'm going to handle the tiredness in the 3rd trimester as it gets even worse!!

I tend to get home at 6.30pm, have a bath (where I usually fall asleep) eat dinner and be in bed by 8pm, then back up again at 5.45am to leave at 6.30am.
This Sat, I am spending all day in bed and I can't wait.

Maternity leave in 2 months for me, and I can't wait. I agree that it still seems a lifetime away though.
