could vanishing twin still be here?

hi all my circumstances are odd and long winded but would love to hear from anyone who can shed light on this!
right i have 3 kids (hence my sig) and im pregnant with no 4.
at 5 weeks had a bit of spotting(previously any bleeding in my pregnancys has resulted in miscarriage) so i was obviously worried. saw doc who referred me for a scan at 7 weeks .this showed that there was 1 heartbeat where it should be but there was also a second gestational sack with what theysaid was just a bleed inside it with no heartbeat.felt kinda weird after as i was expecting either pregnancy or miscarriage not both.but got my head round it and learnt that vanishing twin syndrome is common and i know blessed with the baby im carrying and of course my amazing sprogs already ere.Now my quandry is that i am now almost 12 weeks my bump is huge for my dates im sure ive felt movement and i cant stop thinkin maybe theres 2 in there somehow.my scan is tomorrow afternoon.but i look like im going for my 20 weeks scan not 12!!! any thoughts?

wow I feel for you it must be a very confusing time. Not got any advice, except for to take it easy and relax... and wait for tomorrow...

Oh I hope you get the news you want from your scan..it must be very distressing for you not being sure what's going on...

tired... let us know how your scan goes today. Not sure if this is much help but I had spotting at about the same time and on one of the scans the doctor 'thought' it might have been a twin pregnancy but not anymore. Since, they discovered that there are lobes or cysts on my placenta. I too was very big at 12 weeks and thought I could feel movement... I'm pregnant with No.3. Good luck later.

Gosh no idea tired but best of luck today. It must be awful not knowing but as you say you are blessed with a pregnancy - be the result one or two babies!! How would you feel about having twins?

had scan late on yesterday and there was one very hectic baby!no trace at all of the possible other one,(radiographer said its probably been reabsorbed ).
so im counting my blessings it could all have been so much worse and i guess had i not had the early scan i never wouldve known about the twin.also im a week further on than i calculated so im 13 weeks today!!!dont mean to sound flipant wont forget the twin just tryin to think forwards.

Oh Tallulah is my absolute favourite but we've got lots of ls in our surname so think it'd be a bit of a mouthful. Then I read Bruce Willis' daughter was changing hers cos she'd always hated it, she's got no taste obviously. Sorry about the twin but you're right you might never have known & you won't forget about him/her now that you do.
