Blood test results

Hi

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the 12 weeks blood tests to come back for Downs and Pataus?

It’s been 2 weeks now, should I have received a letter or can I just assume no news means everything looked ok?

Thanks

I think it takes longer to process over the Christmas period as labs will be closed

Wait until Monday and give them a call xx

I read my notes on this not long ago. If the markers are positive you will be informed within 3 working days. If you give your doctor a call surely they will be able to tell you if the results received back. I know my doctor is rubbish for telling you if results are negative. If they have nothing to report they don't tend to get in touch.

Quoted from the NHS screening tests for you and your baby, page 25, getting my results.
"if your screening test shows a lower chance result, you should be told within 2 week of the test.
If your screening test shows a higher chance result, you should be told within 3 working days of the test result being available. You will be offered an appointment to discuss the test results and the further options you will have. "

I had mine done on 27th with my 12 week scan and recieved the results yesterday - in the Northants area.

I had my 12 week scan beginning of Dec, was only expecting to hear if high risk but perhaps I'm wrong given replies above!

Completely shocked at some of the waits here, I had my 12 week scan with a dr at my hospital, she took the blood before and gave me the result two hours later.

I would definitely call to check. I didn't receive my results after my 12 week scan and thought it meant I was low risk as that's what I had been told. I mentioned it at my 20 week scan and they told me I should have had a letter. I chased it up and it turns out they had lost my sample so it had never been tested. I ended up having it again, got a high risk result and having an amnio. Everything was ok in the end but it was a stressful time!
