12 scan

Hi everyone, I am pregnant with my first child. I am currently 12wks 5days. I have been to see my midwife at approx 9 weeks, and they were referring me to my local hospital. I've not had a letter yet for my 12 week scan? I don't feel like I'm being impatient I just want to see my baby! It sounds stupid but I dont 'feel pregnant' yet...think it's because it's yet to be confirmed. Shall I give them a couple more days?

I'd chase today if I were you. You can only get the combined screening done up to 13+6 (or thereabouts) and so getting in before this date is important if you want those tests done. If you have a very busy hospital you might struggle at this stage to get in quickly - mine's a nightmare. Definitely worth a call.

You really should have an appt by now as the NHS guidelines are to do the 12 week appt ideally on 12+3 and at the latest 13+6.

ok thanks both for that! I find myself to be quite a patient person but not with things regarding my baby. I will call them today and find out what is going on.

They tried to do this with me! I ended up calling them directly at the hospital and she told me over the phone when my appointment was scheduled in for rather than waiting for the post. She also told me that the letters had been piling up because no one had taken the post! Always worth calling them ☺️

I've just spoken with my midwife, she phoned the hospital and they said they hadn't received anything!! Even though my info was sent 14th Dec! Grr! lol I will phone the hospital once I finish work and ask for an appointment over the phone instead of waiting for the post! Hospitals ay! Thank you

UPDATE! I rang the hospital this morning and then again this afternoon, they rang me back not long after and I've been booked in for this Saturday I can finally see my baby! I'll be 13 wks and 1 day. Cant wait to get a more accurate dating at the scan.
