Bleeding at nearly 11 weeks (TMI)

Hi,
I’m 11 weeks tomorrow and on NYE I noticed a bit of bright red blood when I went to the toilet, it was an absolutely tiny amount and as it stopped I decided to wait till my scan on 16th Jan to mention it, however last night it started again, this time dark brown and a fair bit more (but not a lot) and it’s still happening (but a bit lighter in amount now). I’ve no cramps or other pain.
I’ve phoned the midwives, but the system is that you leave a message and they call you back. However after their speech message there isn’t a beep, it just sounds like they’ve taken ages to turn their recording off and then my phone hangs up after 10 seconds. I left a message in this time, but I’m unsure if they’ve got it as it doesn’t sound like any other voicemail system I’ve used if that makes sense. The lack of a beep is throwing me off!
How long would you leave it before calling your GP? The midwives phone message says they will call back withiin a few days, so I don’t want to jump the gun, but what if they haven’t got the message?

I would contact the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital. They will probably tell you. To go to A&E for a referral but will then see you that same day and give you a scan.

I had lots of bleeding in my first trimester due to a subchorionic bleed and all the midwife can do is send you to EPU.

Btw everything was fine and the bleed has now healed.

I would contact your closet EPU if you can. That is who will end up scanning you. Don't leave it. I hope you get seen quickly and all is okay.

Thanks! I phoned my GP in the end as my local EPU uses the same messaging system as the midwives so I wouldn’t have been sure to get through, the GP has now put in a referral there so they will contact me to arrange an early scan.
Thanks for your advice and I’m glad the bleeding healed up for you Clare
