Hypnobirthing course

Hi ladies, I know there are some good books and cds out there, but I’m looking at a face to face hypnobirthing course.

Options are a group course (3 couples) or a private course which is 3 x the price (and more than I want to spend!) but I’ve heard very good things and am happy to go ahead with it if it’s recommended.

If we did the group course I’d be about 30/31 weeks pregnant, but with a private course we’d have more flexibility. I don’t know when in the pregnancy is the optimum time to start hypnobirthing?

Does anyone have any experience / views they would be happy to share? Thank you.

We did a group course which was really good, it was nice hearing what others thought of it and they asked questions we hadn't thought of. We also started it when I was 31 weeks and it was a 4 week course, I feel like it has given us enough time but we are being very strict with ourselves about practicing something every day - otherwise I don't think it will be effective. Very glad we did the course though, I don't think just CDs etc would have the same impact - although that is a personal preference.

I know a hypnobirthing practitioner (and start my course on Saturday!) and they say any time from 20 weeks but ultimately that it doesn't matter if you start it later.
Personally I chose the group over private because I know people who have made good friends on the courses. Probably the best thing to do is ring the person running the course and have a chat with them?

Thank you @Navy123 and @Stargirl17

I think I’ll go ahead and book the course :-)
