8 1/2 month old and pregnant !

I’m nearly 18years old and I had my little boy in April this year but although I was on the depo contraceptive injection then directly onto the pill I find myself pregnant again ! I have a termination consultation booked in for the 3rd but I honestly don’t think I could do it. It’s not the babies fault but I refuse to believe it’s because a fault of my own . Most people struggle to get pregnant after the injection and I was taking the pill ? I don’t understand and I’m stuck on what to do . my partner is understanding but I know he doesn’t want another baby yet ?
Any advice would be great

Been to hospital today - have a haemorrhage in my belly and fluid surrounding my right ovary where I ovulated from . No sign of a baby yet been told it’s either too early - dates make me 7 weeks clear blue makes me 3 I’ve already misscarried and waiting for It to pass and watching out now for more eptopic symptoms blood was taken and they will check again on Thursday :( his income could support us not that it’s looking likely now :(

Oh I’m so sorry to hear that. I lost a baby to an ectopic, it’s a scary time but you are in the right hands! Hope it all works out ok for you. Keep us updated 💐

I know you probably don’t want to talk about it but would you maybe share your experience with me ? Boyfriend doesn’t understand atall and I don’t think he means it horribly but I think he’s slightly revlieved with this whole situiatuon :/

Yes of course! Well I got a positive pregnancy test but about a week later started getting bleeding that was purple prune juice coloured (sorry TMI). Then I started getting a sharp stabbing pain in my left side of my stomach, I was dizzy and feeling very poorly. My GP sent me straight To hospital and I ended up getting emergency surgery to remove my left tube and the baby. I nearly died so it was all very traumatic. It can go away on its own the, I think your body can naturally sort itself out too, either way it’s all very upsetting so give yourself time to grieve and make sure someone is there to look after you xxx

Thankyou for sharing that with me , the worst bit is they haven’t confirmed anything yet :( they can’t find the baby :/ which is the most unsettling part right now :/ they told me if I get any further pain then to go to A&E but what am I supposed to say they couldn’t find the baby earlier therefor it wouldn’t be causing me a problem for a few weeks yet ? Confused ! Xx

If you are in pain, and go to A&E, make sure you use the phrase 'pregnancy of unknown location'. That would flag up to them a potential ectopic pregnancy or a miscarriage.

Pregnancy Unknown Location / PUL is the offical term used.

But they couldn’t find it earlier ? Will they just laugh me away ? Partner isn’t home for another hour so can’t go anywhere untill he’s back for Oscar :/ do babies know when your having a bad day and have a bad day themself I think so :( he’s not been in a good mood since the hospital when I had to leave him briefly with a friend :(

Hi OP, I'm sorry to hear you're having such a tough time. How are you feeling? Is this definitely a miscarriage?

I don't know if this will help but I had a 'Pregnancy of unknown location' & was sent away for a week with a leaflet about signs of ectopic/internal bleeding & was absolutely terrified. I also had a haemorrhage which is why I'd gone for an early scan.

My HCG levels were still rising but considered sub-optimal. However, a week later I went back for another internal scan and they found a sac, foetal pole etc. I was just much earlier than everyone thought due to massively irregular cycles. He's now 3 months old and perfectly healthy.

My OH really struggled during this time but looking back I think he was petrified that something bad was going to happen to me & that's all he cared about - could your OH be feeling the same?

Babies can pick up on bad vibes but don't beat yourself up about that, you can't help how you feel at such a stressful time.

No idea about misscarriage or anything they just told me to go home and in for bloods on Thursday morning this pain is getting horrendous now I’m trying every (pregnancy pain reliever ) I know and obviously this is different so nothing is even coming close to soothing this pain kind of feels like labour but not like about to give birth stage currently in the bath and feeling rubbish

You need to get out of the bath and go to A&E, where is the pain? With a PUL the pain you're experiencing could be a ruptured falopian tube which is very, very dangerous. Please get medical help ASAP. I really hope you're okay.

Definitely get to a and e. If your tube ruptures and bleeds you won't necessarily know as it's internal bleeding. If you go to sleep, it could be very bad.

When mine ruptured I thought it was very bad period pain (not much worse than my usual awful period pain). Turns out I had so much blood internally and the baby had popped my tube.

They couldn’t see a baby is what I’m saying it couldn’t have grown that much in a few hours :/

They couldn't see a baby either at all when I was in this situation but were still adamant that I should go to A&E if I experienced any pain. Did you have an internal scan? How are you feeling now?

You should really go to A&E. With my ectopic they couldn't see a pregnancy either - turns out that was because I had a blood clot the size of the surgeon's fist over my fallopian tube which had ruptured.

Have you got any pain in the tip of either of your shoulders? This is a very telling sign of an ectopic.

Also throbbing on one side only.

I had a internal scan , belly’s not so bad this morning but feeling rough as anything I didn’t know that was a thing ? X

If you don’t want to go to A&E can you ring your EPU and tell them about the pain at least for some advice? You really do need to be seen I think

I'm going to give them a ring soon ! If not my appt is at 10am for more bloods if I can hold out till then x

I couldn't get through to the right department as it was shut pains starting to radiate up my belly and oh thinks it's paranoia

Please ignore your OH, take a look at the NHS website for symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy, it includes:

Bleeding
Abdominal pain that can come and go
Shoulder tip pain
Dizziness
Feeling faint
And some other things

I know you probably won’t go to A&E now (although I probably would if I were you & I’m not one to say that lightly!) but it’s really very important that you do if this pain becomes worse through the night.

Didn't get any worse throughout the night so hopefully I'll have some answers this afternoon from my bloods later this morning ! Thankyou for being helpful x

My hormones doubled so I have a scan on Saturday morning ! Fingers crossed they find it
