Did the redness from your belly button piercing fade post birth?

Pretty much what the title says. My belly button piercing (skin in between) is fairly thin an has stretched out an is red. It isn’t sore at all just red from the thin skin an stretching of what is technically scar tissue I guess.

Just wondered if anyone’s after faded and went back to normal skin colour? Or will it remain darker forever.

Hoping after it isn’t too stretched and sad looking an can still hold a bar as believe it will help disguise it a bit!

Mine went back normal and bar went straight back in no problem

I still had my metal bar in when i gave birth and had no issue.

Is therea chance the redness is a stretch mark? They can take a really long time to fade.

@Soontobemum2017

I did wonder if it could be a stretch mark but don’t think it is. Isn’t a stretch mark type appearance and is literally just that bit of skin. When I rub it with lotion or put pressure on it the redness goes away. An then within few minutes comes back. So think it’s like pressure from the blood vessels maybe where it’s so stretched out an thin ☹️☹️

It’s gonna be a wrinkly mess after I think

@Anna2006 it might not be, here's a pic of mine during pregnancy. It was so stretched I thought it was gunna rip open. I'd post a pic of it from now but my hairy pregnancy belly hasn't gone yet 😢

BeulahBattleaxe · 01/01/2018 00:28

Mine looked as though the skin had ripped apart. I am very pale. It's bow faded stretch mark colour because essentially that's what it was

Mine stayed weird and stretched. I had a lovely neat little piercing and now it’s like two big stretched gash wounds or something, even when I was small it still looked awful! But I was a size uk 8 pre pregnancy and had a 9lb11oz baby so mine is probably quite an extreme example I suppose

BigBaboonBum · 01/01/2018 01:11

(However the bar did go back through but for obvious reasons I didn’t want to use it)

Anna2006 · 01/01/2018 08:10

Ah okay so maybe it will fade an go pale afterwards when it isn’t constantty. Ring stretched.

@ew1990 wow yes that is some stretching. Mine looks very similar an then just red. Fingers crossed it will not look too bad after. I’ve keep it very moisturised by only so much that thin skin can stretch!

@BigBaboonBum wow that is one fair size baby lol. Did you get a massive bump? I was size 8 pre pregnancy. More like size 10 now but I guess my bump isn’t massive compared to some and baby will be very average 7lb er I think. So hopefully it won’t be too bad but what will be will be I guess. I can cope if it’s a bit saggy the piercing. Just didn’t want bit red gash in middle of my belly forever 😂

Picture attached. Sorry it’s not the most attractive belly ever at the minute 🙈🙈

Bye bye wash board abs lol. I’m 35 weeks btw

My bump was HUUUUUUGE, way above normal! Lol. I think I may just carry very far out compared to most by the looks of things (plus make massive babies). And that picture is kind of how mine still looked afterwards, only much worse and didn’t go back. I wouldn’t worry as most people’s don’t look that bad at all
