Exercises at home - pilates ball?

Hi everyone

I am not active and 2.5 stone overweight. I want to start exercising but my commute is 4 hours daily so unlikely to find time to join a gym.

I am 17 weeks pregnant with my first and want to start doing exercise at home. I was going to start yoga at home and saw online some good pregnancy exercises with a pilates ball. Has anyone used this in pregnancy when not having done much exercise before?

Any tips, websites, YouTube vid recommendation greatly received! Please share

Thanks x

I'm about the same as you weight wise (or I was! I'm much bigger now I'm nearly ready to drop!). I'm started a pregnancy pilates class at 15 weeks which involves a ball. I love my ball - it's not done much for my weight but it's great for easing pelvic pain and back pain just by sitting on it! If you get one, just make sure it's pumped to the right height. Your hips should be higher than your knees but you shouldn't feel like you are about to fall off.

Thanks spugz, did you follow online tutorials to get it set up or visit a class or anything? I think I'll splurge on one!

Yeh I go to a local class. She pumps my ball and checks it's right every few weeks. I found the class at my docs surgery I think but you can usually find them on community notice boards
