I know it’s relatively early days but I began feeling quite a lot of movements about 14 weeks (3rd pregnancy) but they stopped about a week ago and I’m not feeling anything day to day. I’m really worried. I’ve been in contact with two lots of midwives and my Gp over a different issue and mentioned this to all of them but have been dismissed because they don’t make any checks based on reported movement before 20 weeks. I feel I didn’t receive any reassurance at all, just they don’t deal with this as it’s ‘too early’. I don’t really know what I’m asking but it’s on my mind. I guess I’m wondering if this has happened to others and how it worked out?

I’m sorry I don’t have any experience of this but could you possibly book a private scan?
I didn’t really feel either of my two very much at that stage.

They are so small at that age that if they change position you might not be able to feel them anymore. Try not to worry but like previous poster mentioned book for a private scan just to double check if you are that worried.

Thanks. I’ve had a look and they seem to be at least £60 at this stage which I just don’t have to spend right now :-(

The midwife said to me that even up to 24 weeks they can have their back to your stomach and be kicking inwards meaning you might not feel anything and can tuck themselves up in little corners.

I didn't feel any of my 3 until well after 17 weeks anyway so I wouldn't worry!

And I'm sorry if this sounds cold - but just to be pragmatic, I don't believe they would offer you a scan for this reason at this stage because theres nothing that could be done anyway.

It's not long now til your 20 week scan so just wait til then and I'm sure everything will be fine!

Same happened to me this time round - movement from 12 weeks (!) but sporadic. They more regular near 14 weeks then a week of barely anything at around 17 weeks which worried me. If their backs are out you may not feel as much. Baby might be head down too.
