Hi, Sorry no answers except to say that I have been experiencing this too at 27+3 and have done so for a few weeks now. I believe that I also experienced this in my previous pregnancies too.
The standard advice is this to run this past your midwife/GP so they can check you out...rule out anaemia etc.
Hopefully, someone will come along shortly to offer some more advice.
Hope you're doing O.K

Could it be sleep apnea? I read before it can be more common in pregnancy because of more mucus being produced, are you snoring a lot too? If not maybe baby just kicked you somewhere whilst you were sleeping and it woke you up with a shock? User is right though, medical advice is best in this situation

Agree that you should be checked to be absolutely safe but you will probably feel much better once your bump moves down (although the shortness of breath is replaced by a baby tap-dancing on your bladder...!).

I felt like this towards the end of last pregnancy, especially lying down. I felt better when baby dropped down
