Hello,

Abit worried: first time pregnancy and 17 weeks.

I have been taken sudafed nasal spray for over a week and didn't even think to check the label but it states "not to be used in pregnancy". Should i contact someone to get checked ?

Just stop using it. Speak to your midwife if worried.

Maybe Worth mentioning at next appt. but for reference you can't use a lot except paracetamol when pregnant unless prescribed.
I've had a sinus infection for 2 weeks and has to go to Docs for antibiotics as paracetamol wasn't even touching the sides!

You can use a plain saline spray. I used a Calpol one for babies which says on instructions it's ok for pregnancy. You cant really use anything except paracetamol in pregnancy unfortunately. I think you will be ok.

Plenty of drugs can be used safely in pregnancy. People think it's just paracetamol but it's not. Even if the active ingredients in the spray are teratogenic then the route (nasal) and dose (minimal) of the spray would mean that it is very unlikely that a harmful amount would have made it into your blood stream.

Also, you're in the 2nd trimester now and most of the major organs would be developed enough that it's unlikely to cause harm.
