Hi all! I've done some searching but feeling a bit confuddled about everything I'm reading and was wondering if anyone here could help!

We're due to go to Spain at the end of may (Surprise from my mum who didn't know I was pregnant when she booked) when I will be 31 weeks pregnant and due back when I am 32 weeks. I'm looking for travel insurance that will cover me and possibility of premature birth. The airline is happy for us to fly as long as we have a doctors note.

Can anyone recommend a Travel Insurance company?

You may not even get on plane, you need to contact your carrier or travel company and find out exactly what their policy is, some are 30 weeks some are less. As for policies again they will probably require a medical or doctors line to authorise travel and you may need to pay for a copy of your medical history and notes to take with you.

This is just experience I have had from working in travel and the pilot can refuse travel for anyone if concerns are raised by them or policy on pregnant woman travel by the carrier.

Spain's medical centres are really good (had a few bumps before) and do you have your EHC?

(European health card)

Best wishes!

Sorry just reread and noticed your carrier is fine with note etc.

There is a company called

HOLIDAYSAFE

they do cover up to 40 weeks and cover all issues from DVT to miscarriage at any stage.

Try them.

Thank you for your help! Looking into the EHC just now and will give Holidaysafe a look up as well Smile

Welcome lass,

You've done the main research for flying and know the risks for DVT etc.

Just remember to declare all medical issues and also extend your insurance for 3 days after return flight in case of delays etc.

We've just booked a holiday and used Ravenhall insurance. I will also be 31-32 weeks.
