I’m reading so much mixed info about implantation and when you can test with the early test... it is doing my head in :)

If you test too early though you are really just pissing on money, as there's no point doing a test unless it's one of the pricey first response ones. And if you test 8/9/maybe even 10dpo and get a negative, it's likely to be a false one so you'd have to test again the next day or day after anyway. I've been there! If you don't mind wasting the cash though then go for it!

PinkyPromise77 · 29/12/2017 00:22

Hehe true harrietm87 probably pissing on money anyway with those tests... what would probably work better would be getting a couple of cheepy tests on line, waiting enough to miss period and I would know for sure but hey it’s miss impatient over here... so I got 2 frer ones (were on sale thankfully hehe) and 1 is for normal around my AF date and one for when I’m stupid and just want to test too early 😂

@harrietm87 I tested early for all four of my pregnancies and all were 100% accurate. I think people do it for fun and also for excitement. Let's not totally sh*t on their chips if they want to 😉 Everyone is different! That's what makes us all so special!

harrietm87 · 29/12/2017 00:57

@CL1982 I know that - I said I'd been there! Also said if you've got the money then go ahead.

I found the site that someone else linked to with percentage chances of false negatives quite helpful and I used that myself. There's early like 9dpo when you may get a bfp, and then there's early at 4dpo when it's a total waste of time. In my experience it's not actually that fun or exciting to get bfns when you're trying to conceive, and then if you've actually tested too early you're either giving yourself false hope or unnecessary disappointment. It's something I hadn't really thought of when swept up in it all at first, but thought it was worth pointing out.

I agree people should do whatever they want, and you'll soon find out if early testing is fun for you or not. We're all a bit mad about this in our ways! I personally have never tested until my period was late. In fact I waited till cycle day 29 even though my cycle is shorter. I didn't want the disappointment I guess. Both times I tested were positive. One ended quickly though and it made me realise there is a real advantage to testing if not early then at least not late...if you are conceiving and then losing the pregnancy early it is useful to be able to know that for sure you did conceive, in case medical advice is needed in the future it helps to pinpoint any issues. You might know anyway from how you feel but doctors will take more note if you had a positive test. Good luck OP and certainly hope you don't have to worry about any of that!

itshappening · 29/12/2017 01:08

Ps. If your cycle is regular it might make sense to think in terms of days till af due rather than dpo. Most early tests say how many days before af due they work from.

MaryShelley1818 · 29/12/2017 06:09

Clear BFP at 10dpo.
The 3-wk old baby result of that BFP is currently lying next to me snoring 😍

CL1982 · 29/12/2017 08:42

@harrietm87 You're quite right. 4dpo is ridiculous! Actually between you and me (and the forum) my 7DPO was ridiculous. I literally tested on a whim as I was so fed up and had the tests there!!! Also I agree with you-there is very little point in testing early unless you invested £6 (min) in a FRER (the only early accurate test) and don't get me started on those sodding blue tests and testing early.....horrible things. I would never advocate testing that early (or earlier than 12dpo) unless you had the money for it or were prepared to use ICs which are pretty shite.

A lot of agro is caused by false negatives. I often think most people get there in the end though with them. I used to use internet cheapies and then squint a lot which I think I have put a rosey coloured spin on now I have my BFP 🤔

Esined1976 · 29/12/2017 10:58

With this one, negative at 9dpo with cheap strips, but positive at 10dpo with cheapstrip and clear blue digital. With pregnancy before that I tested positive with cheap strips from 8dpo but it ended up as a chemical pregnancy/ very early miscarriage.

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 29/12/2017 11:06

Just to add, my 8dpo bfp was with an ic, so not really pissing on money. I got bfp at 9dpo with ic in 2 previous pregnancies. I know not everyone rates them, but I've had excellent experiences.

DailyMaileatmyshit · 29/12/2017 11:10

14dpo (day I was due on) I got a squinter. I did test at 11 and 12dpo as I was on a hen do and wanted to see if I could drink. They were totally negative so I got absolutely hammered!

CL1982 · 29/12/2017 14:07

7DPO - that was a crazy early fluke though on a FRER! I don't think that's usual.....my average for an accurate early test was 10DPO with a FRER.

CL1982 · 29/12/2017 18:14

Bloody phone just repeated this-sorry folks. I'm not mad just very very tired 🤪

TriJo · 30/12/2017 00:54

Faint BFP @ 12 dpo this time, but I have a relatively long luteal phase so that's normal for me.

PinkyPromise77 · 30/12/2017 03:56

Only 6 DPO today do taping my hands lol!!! Must resist 🙈🙈🙈

We've been trying after our mc on 14th Dec.. how long should I wait to test and when will a text show neg?

I've been having heartburn and sore boobs but unsure what is what!

PinkyPromise77 · 31/12/2017 12:09

Whitley83 When are you due? Apparently Best to test the day of your missed period but sometimes you can test up to 6 days before missed period? I think FRER test are the quickest? I’m not sure I’m still so new to this and I’m still waiting until I’m able to test lol 😂

So... this is mine... 9DPO...

How early DPO did you get your BFP?

TriJo · 02/01/2018 11:54

That looks like mine at 12 dpo... I'm 34 weeks now.

Congratulations :)

whiteonesugar · 02/01/2018 15:14

I was 10dpo. I tested early because i was using Cyclogest and needed to know if i was pregnant or not so as to stop them / not.

Was a faint but definite line.

CL1982 · 02/01/2018 20:34

@PinkyPromise77 yeah congrats! Your eggo is preggo!

PinkyPromise77 · 03/01/2018 00:35
