Lightning pains - anyone else?

I’m 37+ weeks and for the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting shooting pains around my groan. According to google this is something called lightning pains or fanny daggers!! It is SO painful, (like cry out f* etc. type pain) comes on suddenly, bothers me for maybe up to an hour then goes again. Just wondering if anyone else has experience of this and if so, any tips? My google searches come up with contradictory suggestions as you might expect. Got the midwife tomorrow so going to mention it then.

Yep, I'm 34 weeks and have been getting loads today! It feels like baby has moved down a bit so I guess she's nudging on something but I was wincing walking round earlier, it really hurt Shock

Hi. I've been getting this too, it started off being just when I walked too fast but now happens randomly. My midwife said it's the baby's head engaging and putting pressure on nerves. I find it helps if I keep moving when I get it rather then standing still or crouching over. Also remembering to breath deeply seems to help

Thanks for your comments. Sorry to hear you’ve got this too. Midwife today said totally normal at this stage and just one of those lovely pregnancy things. Oh well, on the home straight now...
