Hi, am nearly 37 weeks with DC2. Had a fairly easy pregnancy with DC1 2 years ago besides some SPD which- touch wood- I seem to have avoided this time around. I finished work last week and have gradually felt worse and worse over the past few days. Have woken this morning feeling nauseous, dizzy, exhausted, emotional and am having cramps pains/tightening in low abdomen and back.
I was induced at 42 weeks with DC1 and had no signs of labour beforehand so am fully anticipating going past dates this time around but was told at my last midwife appointment that this baby is fully engaged which never happened first time around.
Really I’m wondering if this is something anyone else has experienced in the days prior to labour (I could do with another week or so to get organised!) or if you think this is just general winter illness, late pregnancy gripes etc!? Am trying not to worry too much as I will only feel worse and trying not to worry DH as we could potentially still have another 5 weeks to wait! Any advice appreciated!

Sounds okey pick get be in labour? I would call the midwife.

Oops - sounds like you could be in labour.

Hmm although I was induced with pessary I did labour the first time and this is not what it felt like! Cramps are not painful or regular. They get worse if I’m doing something (have been trying to tidy up xmas presents today without much success!) which was not my experience first time around as they were definite contractions!

Call your mw for some advice. It could be your body preparing for Labour xx

It could be Braxton Hicks, I am 38 weeks with number three and am generally starting to feel really rough now after a great pregnancy, similar to you. You will know when/if it’s contractions - everyone says it but its true. See how it goes today.

For a couple of days before I went into labour I felt terrible- really nauseous and restless with lots of Braxton Hicks. Sounds like your body is getting itself ready...!
