I'm 36+5 weeks and for Christmas yesterday I was gifted a bottle of non-alcoholic wine (which I finished with dinner).

Just read the back of the bottle there though and it says it's not totally alcohol-free and actually has around 0.05% and now I feel awful Sad can't stop crying and feel so guilty that I've hurt my little girl. I don't know what to do Sad

You haven’t done anything. Your baby is fine. You cannot have hurt her with such a small trace of alcohol.

ItsChristmoose · 26/12/2017 22:59

It's totally and utterly fine. Guidelines have people terrified of everything! You are fine OP and your baby is fine and you clearly didn't get smashed drunk, I think you'd have noticed.

Fwend · 26/12/2017 23:00

Orange juice left out of the fridge overnight would have the same alcohol content.

Panic ye not!

FriendlyGhost · 26/12/2017 23:00

I promise you haven’t done any damage. An occasional glass of proper wine is absolutely fine.

ChristmasGoose · 26/12/2017 23:01

To be classed as alcohol free a drink must be 0.05% alcohol or less. OP, it was officially alcohol free! Please don't be worried, you haven't drunk alcohol, and you haven't harmed your baby Xmas Smile

thingymaboob · 26/12/2017 23:04

That's nothing. 0.05%! Most non alcoholic beer / wine is labelled like that. There is no chance you've cause any harm with that. Do you understand how low that is?

xoguineas · 26/12/2017 23:04

Thanks everyone, had a little google as well there and feeling better. Just totally panicked when I seen a % on the back

Hope you're not panicking anymore op. As another poster pointed out there's less alcohol in there than naturally occurs in fruit and to be honest at this late stage baby wouldn't be affected at all by consuming the whole bottle! Hope if you receive or buy another one before you give birth you can enjoy it guilt free! X

I'm 40 weeks pregnant and I had a glass of white wine on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day. It's the only alcohol I've had all pregnancy and I didn't let myself feel guilty about it. It's Christmas and baby's fine!

xoguineas · 26/12/2017 23:20

@mummabubs thank you, feeling much better now x

You are fine please don't worry!!! A glass here or there really wouldn't hurt and you really wouldn't have even been close to that. Hugs & good luck....oh and get used to the mummy guilt for everything it's sucks lol.

LolitaLempicka · 26/12/2017 23:49

0.05%? Surely bread has a higher ethanol content than that?

ginandnappies · 26/12/2017 23:50

It has to say that on the label. It's fine. I had a glass of normal wine at 37 weeks and my baby wasn't born with two heads. Just relax, you will do more damage by stressing than drinking a bottle of alcohol free wine. Xx

dingdongdigeridoo · 26/12/2017 23:55

I put it through an online calculator and the entire bottle was 0.0375 units. That’s tiny!

Are you ok in general? I hope you aren’t feeling too anxious.

xoguineas · 27/12/2017 00:24

@Mustang thanks! Lol can't wait for it Grin

xoguineas · 27/12/2017 00:25

@dingdong that is tiny! As soon as I seen the number I just panicked. I can be quite an anxious person but this is my first baby as well so feel like I have no idea what I'm doing half the time haha x

You haven't done anything at all.

At this point your baby is pretty much cooked and ready to come very soon!

That's a minuscule amount of alcohol, pretty certain it's not going to do any harm.

Try to relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

CL1982 · 27/12/2017 19:00

Oh dolls-i have had about 3 bottles of this stuff so don't worry, you're not alone ;)

You're ok with up to 0.5%-your kidneys and liver are excellent at filtering out this stuff. Baby all fine don't panic. And tbh even if you had a glass of actual wine or two baby would still be fine ❤️
