Hi all, experiencing bad lower back pain. Six weeks pregnant. Please tell me this is normal? Any advice? I am worried this is a bad sign. Thanks in advance.

Ohhhh god I had this at 6 weeks this time! This is my third child and it was absolutely awful and I haven’t had it before. Everything is good though, I was told hormones cause it to happen

BigBaboonBum · 26/12/2017 14:38

In fact I had it for a few weeks, started earlier but it was gone by late first trimester

Thanks so much BBB. It hurts like hell but I can cope with that just hope everything is okay with the bean!

Same here, it's eased off loads now that the cramping has eased off and I'm 9 weeks but it was really awful for about 3 weeks.

I hope it feels better soon! I know it’s horrible and nothing seems to help at all, I was incredibly relieved when it stopped. Try a pillow between the legs just to keep your spine/tailbone as straight as possible was all I could think of

Yeah, I had it with my daughter and had it this time too for a few weeks early on. It felt like period pain and radiated right through. Paracetamol, hot water bottle and and keeping active helped - I always found it eased on gym days! I think it can be hormonal as it had eased by around 10 weeks.

Sleeping with a pillow between my knees eased mine. :)

Thanks so much for your suggestions I will try those! Also relieved nobody is suggesting this means something wrong with the bean. Thanks xx

I had severe abdominal and back pain in early weeks, ended up in hospital to be told it was growing pains 🙄 felt so daft but it was agony! Currently 27 weeks now and battling heartburn.

Thanks EmmaLou

Oops posted too soon! Best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy and managing the heartburn! I am relieved to know this is normal! But wow it does hurt A LOT. I am not sure now whether mine is abdomen or back it’s radiating through me! Confused

Mine was like my tailbone area

stepmummynowrealmummy · 27/12/2017 09:44

I have this too, I think I'm around 4-5 weeks :)

hopingandprayingthistime · 27/12/2017 14:31

Thank goodness. Mine is also tailbone area!
