I had / have low level nausea from about 6dpo. I think I must be Uber sensitive to either progesterone or HCG. And the odd feeling of being poked. I've read people referring to a pinching feeling but that's the feeling I've had is the exact opposite and is all over my abdomen rather than in one place.

I know lots of people suggest that there are no symptoms before your period is late but I don't agree. It's also pretty insensitive to refer to symptom spotting as 'that crap' when actually symptom spotting is what keeps some people going on what can be a very shitty ride on the TTC journey.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 27/12/2017 17:09

I've been pregnant four times (first three ended in miscarriage, fourth currently ongoing) and every time I've had sore, swollen boobs from 10dpo. For me I know that's a definite sign - to the point that I knew what the answer would be before taking the test for the last two - because we been trying for 18 months and it's never happened on any of the cycles I haven't been pregnant. But for other people it would be a normal part of their PMT. That's the problem with symptom spotting - it varies so much from person to person, and can vary across cycles even for the same person.

sweetkitty · 27/12/2017 17:12

I've been pregnant 6 times (4DC 2MCs) and have just known each time. Somefrom the day after conception some from about 7-10dpo.

i ovulate day 15 of a 27 day cycle with one I DTD day 11 (was only time that month) another DTD day 17. The last two we DTD a few times around ovulation.

In the days before you could buy pregnancy tests, and very early on - maybe at 6 weeks - I felt a weird tingling in just one boob. I'd never felt it before, and that convinced me.
I felt exactly the same at about the same stage with no. 2.

PricillaQueenOfTheDesert · 27/12/2017 17:28

My first symptom was tiredness. I’d fall asleep every time I sat down. I woke up tired and no amount of sleep made me feel better or refreshed.

It's really interesting that you considered that early for symptoms. Now that most women - and almost everyone who was actively trying - knows by six weeks, most women report multiple strong symptoms by then - you see lots of posts from women who are concerned if they don't 'feel pregnant' by weeks 5/6. Clearly some symptoms - vomiting, for instance! - are very physical, but I do wonder how many are either psychological, or so mild they'd only be noticed if looking for them. I'm 10 weeks and although I've had symptoms - bloating, nausea, fatigue, sore and larger breasts - they've been quite mild and I can easily see how if I'd had no clue I was pregnant I might have just thought I was a bit under the weather but not known why or thought that much of it. It would be interesting to know what percentage of women reported these symptoms back when it wasn't possible for pregnancy to be definitely confirmed until later.

billybigballs · 27/12/2017 17:44

Kit that looks positive to me!

I'm also in the 2ww op; due to test on New Year's Day. Have absolutely no symptoms and have convinced myself that this is not the month, but will wait and see. Should I not be drinking just in case?? Hmm

Flippertyjibbetty · 27/12/2017 17:54

I just felt preg, knew before test went blue/pink. Felt tired immediately and absence of normal period symptoms then boobs v tender- first positive test 5/6 days late I think.

Fingers x'd for you!

SimultaneousEquation · 27/12/2017 18:00

I knew all three times.

ifonly4 · 27/12/2017 19:00

I went out for an Xmas meal literally six days after DD was conceived and thought I couldn't face it, spent the rest of Xmas feeling like that, unfortunately for me I then had awful sickness for seven months, so I was particularly sensitive to hormone changes. Also, my boobs were really sore and tender at the sides. I didn't need to test, I knew I was pregnant but tested on due day and line changed immediately.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 27/12/2017 21:35

Sore gums! Every time.

DorisDangleberry · 27/12/2017 21:44

A little fella sticking his head out of my fanjo was one sign

MsHarry · 27/12/2017 21:48

I know this sounds far fetched but the day after having sex on holiday in my fertile time, I was lying on th beach and I felt this weird energy in my abdomen. it was like nothing else and was my second pregnancy. When I got back to our accommodation I noticed my nipples were large and dark! 2 weeks late i took the test and it was positive. She's now 14.

xoguineas · 27/12/2017 22:00

I felt really off and not quite myself but not quite ill either - very odd. I kept getting shooting pains in my belly too and could barely bend without a weird sensation in my tummy. Got my later that night!

PinkyPromise77 · 27/12/2017 22:18

I agree kirinm it’s a big deal for a lot of us and as it’s maybe our first month TTC some of us just don’t know what to expect. Good to see some people had been feeling different/having some symptoms so early as it will make me help not to feel like a weirdo when I think this may be it at any small symptom I may get /or not :)

Both times before finding out I have really really fancied alcohol, which is weird considering I hardly ever drink. The second time I knew straight away as soon as I got the craving

Vicks30 · 27/12/2017 22:33

With the oldest I didn’t find out till 4 months, I had periods still until one day they stopped. It was very hard to find out the due date thanks to that. I never had morning sickness or anything, it was Avery smooth pregnancy. The little one I missed a period, found out 8 weeks along. Had nausea even though still wasn’t sick. I’m resigning to the fact it was a girl. 😊

NobodyKnowsTiddlyPom · 27/12/2017 23:14

I knew with my first and second at around 3 + 3 both times. The only symptom I had was a change in my tastebuds - I got that orange juice + toothpaste sort of taste whenever I drank anything. I also started peeing a lot just before my period was due.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/12/2017 09:07

Unlike me, my dd had no very early signs and didn't even twig with no. 2 until she was at least 12 weeks gone. She was still BF no. 1 and periods had not returned, so nothing to miss.
In hindsight, she did say she had sometimes felt more tired than usual, but had put it down to circs at the time.
So not everybody 'knows', far from it - just saying for anyone TTC who is anxious about not feeling anything.

Kit1411 · 28/12/2017 09:18

Just got my answer on a digi, it’s a yes! Fingers crossed for you @pinky

nannybeach · 28/12/2017 09:46

Some symptoms psychological, or so mild you are looking for them! What about if you werent expecting to be pregnant then! How would you explain these "symptoms" then! Because of huge gynae problems I was told I would never become pregnant, and guess what I did at 18, unmarried, in the 60s, when you got married and that was that! Everyone is different, as are everyones birth stories. I have a friend, I was nursing with so not an idiot, she was 7 months with her first before she went to the Dr, NO SYMPTOMS whatsoever, no weight gain, regular periods, with her second it was a bit earlier. A family member also didnt know she was pregnant till she become very unwell went to Hospital and was 6 months.

damekindness · 28/12/2017 10:03

Each time I was pregnant the very first symptom was to go completely off coffee ( I LOVE coffee usually) and being tired...really really really tired

Girlwiththearabstrap · 28/12/2017 10:10

Congratulations on your positive kit and I hope you get yours soon pinky!!

I definitely think some of the super early symptoms are psychological but I think it's totally normal and understandable to look out for them if you're trying!

boodles101 · 28/12/2017 10:16

First time, I was at the cinema and an advert came on before the film - I burst into tears! I'm not usually an emotional person so I was like wtf?!! Then the next few mornings I was wide awake at 5am. Felt very bloated and full of wind so did a test and was positive. It sadly ended in miscarriage.
We started trying again immediately and had zero symptoms those next month. I only did a test as I was going on a hen do and just wanted to get it out of my head and enjoy my weekend away with lots of booze. I nearly fell off the toilet when it came up positive as I literally felt nothing like the last time. I also had no symptoms all through the pregnancy, if it wasn't for the big bump I wouldn't have known at all!

PieAndPumpkins · 28/12/2017 10:54

I'll also be testing on 7/8 Jan if AF doesn't show. This is my third month trying so the enthusiasm has dropped slightly and now just feeling like it's never going to happen. Third baby, several years older and paranoid. Agghh hate the 2ww.
